Its a H4 bulb. It has 2 filaments where the Low beam is unused. But don't feel tempted to connect that to the low beamOriginally posted by Nitin_traveller View Posthey.. jsut struck with a query.
As per my understanding, High Beam in R15 lights up at high beam only and so it should be single beam bulb only.
so should I look for a single beam bulb (like there is for p220) or something in 55W ????
Or night breaker/ Philips Premium H4 double beam will fit in HB without any trouble.
someone, shed some light please????

Got my Blue R15
Hi guys, took delivery of my blue r15 from Raj Yamaha two days back. The dealer experience was horrible. Before handing over the keys delivery , they just sprayed some water on the bike and did not even care to wipe it of with a dry cloth. I had to give 20 bucks to the security guard to wipe it. Then the some random guy came and explained me quickly do's and dont's during run in period. He told me to keep it below 60 k/hr speed till first 3000 km and Also told me not to fill the tank up before ifrst service. He adviced on filling just 4-5 litres of petrol till first service is done. Can anyone please tell me the reason of it?
First riding impressions - mirrors dont adjust the way i wanted. Tried to adjust today morning , now the whole black arm (on which side view mirrors are attached) can move. guess these are loose and needs to be tightened. Side view mirrors also vibrate a lot, similar to Bullets.
Some sound from engine when at low speeds, as if something is grinding , goes away wen clutch is pressed, is it usual?
headlight(s) are adequate.
Overall, pickup is good and ride is smooth. But Raja yamaha sucks!!

I feel sorry for the experience you went through with those Dealers, I think you should mail Yamaha about your experience and let them know that these dealers are just putting a bad reputation on the company with there customer behavioral pattern.
Alright few things:
When you bought this bike, you should sit on the bike with someone holding the back from beside and get the rear view mirror adjusted and also the footpegs adjusted if you need to.
The clutch bell sound is usual specially since the bike is new right now. Did you get all the fluids(coolant, engine oil, brake oil) checked before taking the delivery?
The run-in period of the bike is 1000km. first 500kms at or below 5500rpm, do not ride for long at any particular riding, it should be always varying. The next 500kms i.e. from 500-1000kms on ODO the bike should be ridden at or below 7000rpm, again applying the varying riding habit. The first 2 service i.e. one at 1000km and another at 3000km do not use semi-synthetic oil, use mineral oil. At 6000km service you can switch over to Semi-synthetic oil.
The brakes of the bike are simply awesome but one has to get used to it, so be careful. The braking ratio is 70:30 i.e. front brake 70% and rear brake 30%.
Ride Safe do proper run-in and enjoy the bike.

I have a few queries regarding the Engine Oil grades.
In the Service Bill, they have quoted 15w50 semisynth Yamalube.
is it correct; as you have mentioned shouldn't it be mineral instead of Semisynth.
Also, as I'm a newbie, I agreed to their quote of Rs 812 which includes Engine Oil as mentioned above, Oil cleaner (as on bill, I assume it means the oil Filter) and Petrol and Engine oil additive.
Can any of the experts here shed some light on this additive part please?
Also, does any R15er from Noida in the forum who has bought his bike from J.M. motors, Noida? please share you experience.

@Shivanshu is right-you should have used mineral oil atleast for the 1st 2-3K kms. for better engine run-in&parts mating. Anyways, whats done is done.
Since you are already using semi-synthetic oil, no need for additional engine oil additives.
Similarly, if you are using premium fuels like Indian Oil Extra Premium or HP Speed, they also contain additives, hence again no need.
Don't restrict the bike like any other 150cc bike-take it atleast till the limits mentioned in the manual, else it will be a bit low on pickup in the later stages.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Dude....where do you stay in chennai....and from which "RAJ YAMAHA" did you take the bike....ADYAR or OMR??
i picked up my bike from the OMR branch and they did a decent job on my bike in preparing it for the delivery...
Whatever they said and whoever said those things to you is just plain rubbish....
Though its recommended not to rip your bike for the 1st 1k kms or before the first servicing is done....
ofcourse you can tank up fuel..I have been doing this since day 1 with no issues whatsoever...
BTW the owner of RAJ YAMAHA is very friendly....strange that they behaved in such a manner.
Rest Shivanshu bro has explained in the most detailed way possible....enjoy your baby...
Welcome to the family mate...sigpic

I've heard that there are few types of fuel available in India like premium or HP Speed. What do they mean? Do they differ in octane only?Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostSimilarly, if you are using premium fuels like Indian Oil Extra Premium or HP Speed, they also contain additives, hence again no need.
As local pumps are not trust worthy in our country, I'm afraid so I top up from government pumps. Even I've faced low mileage from local pump! Is there any additives available 2 purify petrol?Facebook Profile Link

I got mine last evening. Even I heard that sound on my bike. But as you said, I'll follow. So that means can I take it above 4000rpm?Originally posted by Shivanshu View PostThe clutch bell sound is usual specially since the bike is new right now. And how much would you think could be the expenses of the 1st service?
Awaiting your reply
