While reading through I hoped you didn't buy anything other than the Amaron. But I'm glad you went for it anyway. The price is correct more or less and I use the same from quite sometime now.Originally posted by Parth View Post--------------------------------

My opinions in boldOriginally posted by Parth View PostI hate MINDA, this name has gathered up so much hate in my heart that even if there was a smokin' supermodel named MINDA who wanted to do me, I'd throw her off my fu(king balcony.
I don't know why Yamaha opted for this cheap brand when they already had TATA Green.
I brought the bike on 14th May 2010 and got a minda battery. I had asked the dealer to get me a Tata Green battery but there was this event that I had to be a part of on 16th may and the bike with the tata green battery would arrive only by 17. So I asked if he'd replace the battery on 17 if I take the one with minda and he said no problem.
While returning from the event, I had a stupid crash due to the incredible braking power of the r15. and the latch of the battery box broke. The dealer said that now he couldn't replace the battery as there were 2-3 scratches on it as the battery moved around in the box due to the absence of the latch.
Braking of R15 is Good man with the Nissin units. Compare with any of the Bikes in its range and you will know
I was SCREWED.
Fast forward 17 months and 16000kms and the battery started to show it's age. The ridiculous thing was my friend who has a 2008 model r15 with a bigger horn and hids installed since day 2 of his ownership did not report any battery related problems.
Yesterday I was 7-8 kms away from home and when I started the bike (push start of course, the battery is fu(ked remember) and started to roll the bike wouldn't rev past 2-2.5k rpm. The battery had lost so much charge that it wasn't even giving enough power to the fuel injection system to put fuel in the cylinder. Had to ride 8kms back home as constant 12kmphr. cycle wallas were going faster than me
I asked around and found that only TATA Green manufactures a battery small enough to install in the r15's battery box.
But when I asked at the dealership, they said 2300 for the tata green. I said F.U.
I called up a friend who has had a karizma for like 2003-04 and asked him. He told me to STFU and hang onto my fone. 5 minutes later my phone rang and 30 minutes later a guy was standing at my doorstep with 12 (yes, twelve) batteries as he was not sure which one would fit in my bike.
I made a mental note to buy my friend with the karizma a couple of cold ones when we meet. He really hoked me up. I couldn't go out and roam in the market for a battery replacement as I'm in the middle of exams. Friends are AWESOME.
Friends Really are awesome. you can find them where others can't reach you, where you won't get network, when you are in need.....thats whats Friends are
So next was to pick a battery and install it in.
We started from the smallest one, Z-power or some brand. It was a direct fit but was a local brand and it was a wet battery so straight away no-no.
Then 4-5 other batteries didn't fit. And the guy that came with them gave up. He said that the battery box will need to be cut. I said how much time would it take, he said 2 hours. I thought kal paper hai, 2 ghante bike mein lgaunga toh mummy khoon kr dengi.
I asked him to connect the battery to the terminals and put the battery in the underseat storage area. Plan worked and the bike finally was ALIVE.
The Battery that I chose was/is an AMARON 5ah Probike/Probiker(I don't really remember). 2 years free of cost replacement warranty and after that 2 years warranty after some depreciation.
Paid him 1400bucks plus the old battery and he was on his way. The price seems reasonable as he came to my house a good 10 kms away and also tried to **** around with the battery box.
When he was gone, I took a closer look at the battery box. The fu(ker has foam at the bottom. Took that shit out and the battery fit like a charm. The only issue was that it was kinda loose in there.
Took some rags and stuffed them in there so make the battery sit tight, reconnected the terminals and I'm golden.
Alright enough of the update, I gotta go study. Ride Safe you guys.

1) Straight swap, though you will need the chain from the V2 as the swing arm is longer, sprockets would probably be a good idea at the same time. Nothing wrong with doing the swap, if you're wanting to do so as to upsize the tyre, then you're handling will be as the V2 as they share the same chassis.Originally posted by kaushik12041985 View Post1.Is it possible to install V2's swing arm on V1 without any modification?
2.is there any deference between V1 and V2's shocker?
2) sameBeware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

I think the sprockets are different(not sure though)Originally posted by kaushik12041985 View Post1.Is it possible to install V2's swing arm on V1 without any modification?

With V2.0 swingarm you will be able to fit a 130section tire, the wheelbase will be longer and you will feel a difference.
I am not sure about the above statement as I have not tried and its just my opinion.
do let us know if you go to the SVC and enquire about it
If you have the V1.0 then its already a Good handler, any specific reason for changing the swingarm?

V2's swingarm is lighter than V1 and i want to install wide rear rim..Originally posted by sundarvignesh View Posti dont think thats a good idea! from the design perspective, changing an enitre swingarm without modifications is not possible from my point of view, of course we ll have to do a through comparison first.....btw why do you want to change it in the first place?
from what i know the shockers are the same
thanks for ur info bro...Originally posted by stefanm View Post1) Straight swap, though you will need the chain from the V2 as the swing arm is longer, sprockets would probably be a good idea at the same time. I am back from My trip.
It was total of 1123 Kms From my place in Noida to My home in Muzaffarpur.
route taken was NH2 (Delhi - Agra - Kanpur), NH25 (Kanpur-Lucknow) and NH28 (Lucknow - Gorakhpur - Muzaffarpur).
On the second day; I had two punctures in Rear tyre and rode till my home without realizing it (Almost 270 kms).
However, I noticed that tyre pressure was 40 PSI even after punctures... I was wondering whether pressure increases so much due to continuous riding (rode for almost 600 kms on the second day)???? it might have gone more than 45 psi as a lot of pressure must have been lost due to puncture??

@All: Need suggestions to the below 2 problems in my 2008 R15:
1. Air loss
My R15 had worn out tyres earlier. Air used to leak from the rear tyre (6 punctures fixed in 3 years), but never from the front.
Before replacing the tyres, there was a minor rim bend, then I got the rim repaired.
Got the rim painted-valve pins were removed then.
Got new tyres fitted.
Now there is leakage from both tyres (Nitrogen)@1 psi per day.
The valves are fine&no chance of minor punctures as the tyres are new.
I find the beading to be seated properly on the rim edges as well.
I am puzzled by this-what do you guys think?
2. Handle problem
My bike's handle has become a bit heavy, and when left, the bike pulls sharply to the right. No falls, but more or less the whole bike was dismantled last month.
Earlier I used to feel the handling is not upto the mark, but now it is really gone. Coneset has never been greased.
Fork oil seals both fine.
Suggestions please.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

1) Go to a professional tyre shop and get the inside of your rims wet sanded, i done this around 4 weeks back and have not lost any pressure at all.Originally posted by Sarvajit View Post@All: Need suggestions to the below 2 problems in my 2008 R15:

2) sounds like the cone set bearing, have a similar issue, had the bolt tightened and the steering is too tight at low speeds, i also get a knocking type sound.Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
