    • Guys, please stick to the topic. This is 2008-2011 'R15 Ownership Thread'.
We have a separate thread for speculations & upcoming variants:http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...on-thread.html

      @Xionite:
Please refrain from making the thread off-topic.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

      • I have been watching this thread for a while now thought this a good point to jump in.

This morning I dropped off the bike for its first servicing so I am feeling a bit of withdrawal. Sunday mornings is motorcycle time for me but today was cut short.

In the past month or so I have been going out for rides around the periphery of Bangalore. NECE road, a ride to Housur... back and forth on the Electronic City Elevated road etc.

Post this service I think I will start taking some more substantial rides so im looking forward to getting the bike back.

I got my R15 on 7/5 its been a great time since.

The bike is more of a toy then transportation I really only ride it on Sunday mornings.

Since this picture was taken I have removed the sari guard and also put a sticker instead of the standard license place.

        • Hi Avinaash

Your bike looks absolutely new and in stock condition!
Congrats for your purchase and enjoy this machine! It's a bit difficult to ride in heavy traffic and I really get irritated to park this bike in the dense parking lot! Most of the time, I refuse to go outing with my friends due to this problem!

More or less, I am getting used to!

but i posted this pic here was to keep potential R15 customers in the know that the new R15 launch is close.

the 2011 Bike Launch speculation Thread is for... well... speculation.
this is an actual pic of the final product.

            so it isn't speculation.

a few pages ago there was someone who was oblivious of the fact that a new R15 is on the horizon.
(i'm glad i helped in him holding on to his booking & not being thoroughly disappointed)

was just sparing someone the dis-appointment of buying an "old(er)" R15.

            .
well you are doing it right XIONITE, BUT if you want to keep R15 owners or perspective buyers aware of the new upcoming model, then yes you have to use the Speculation Thread and not the Ownership Thread. Your one spy pic creates an OT of around 10 post which is of no USE, and its just flooding with useless post and lowering down the quality of this Thread. You being a responsible and mature member of the forum should avoid these things.

And yes let me clear this doubt that since India Yamaha Motors havent come out with any news of the new model of R15, hence the pic you posted is just a SPECULATION brother, about preventing the buyers of booking current model of R15. I think you can start a separate thread for it. All the R15ers out here are absolutely fine and having a gala time with there current R15 models, and if there is anyone who is not interested to buy the current R15 mode need not to be here on this thread as it is. So please avoid speculation brother its a very humble request.

According to me, you should go for R15! For better looks, for better mileage, for better performance and overall, for better life, I encourage you to buy this one. Apache, is also good, but after the arrival of R15, you should stick to better bikes!

My cousin had apache 160. He sold it off and bought R15. According to him, its handling and maintenance sucked! I haven't heart any complaints from him since then. Choice is yours, Finally!

After reading so many speculations on this new version of R15. I would suggest people to ignore it for a while. These speculations are only making people restless and annoyed. Ignore it until Yamaha makes an official announcement.

Lets keep this discussion open for the current version of R15. Thanks for your cooperation.

                  • This is last warning to all of you who are posting off-topic stuff in this topic. Kindly keep the discussions on this thread limited to the current version of R15 only. We have a separate thread going on for the new version, you are most welcome to post on that thread.

                    • Dude,
I faced a problem yesterday evening! In the rear Tyre, air pressure has decreased by 9-10 PSI! So, I went to local svc and filled up the air. They check for punctures but didn't find any.
Later, one of my friends told me that it's due to the cold and rain that happened day before yesterday. Am I supposed to believe what he said or there is another logic?
I don't have separate garage for my bike so I keep my Machine in front of my window(at veranda) inside my home premises but it is not water proof. The rain water falls directly in the bike so I usually cover my bike with double rain coats. They almost cover the bike except some portions of wheels. Along with this, I haven't ride my bike for two days due to continuous rainfall!

                      Enlighten me, Please!
                      As always, Thanks in Advance!

No thats not true at all, have you been loosing air pressure in the rear tyre lately or did u hit a pot hole quite hard. Since you have got it checked for puncture, check for any dent in alloys as well, if thats not the case then check the air nozzle for any fault.

Standing in rain is not a problem, just that make sure you ride her every day or every alternate day OR atleast start her if possible. and since you cover her with rain proof cover thats good enough.

I have been loosing air pressure in rear tyre laterly! I haven't hit any pot holes either nor there is any dent! Even svc guys checked for nozzle and its alright. I just checked my bike, seems there is not any air loss.
I will check at evening also and post up the news!

                            • @Shivanshu - Thanks for the prompt reply. I will keep the run-in instructions in mind. 5k RPM limit is enough to enjoy the bike even during run-in, i noticed the bike can go till 70+ km/h with 5k rpm limit.
I will get the mirrors adjusted during first service, managed somehow myself for now.

i picked up my bike from the OMR branch and they did a decent job on my bike in preparing it for the delivery...
Whatever they said and whoever said those things to you is just plain rubbish....
Though its recommended not to rip your bike for the 1st 1k kms or before the first servicing is done....
ofcourse you can tank up fuel..I have been doing this since day 1 with no issues whatsoever...
BTW the owner of RAJ YAMAHA is very friendly....strange that they behaved in such a manner.

Rest Shivanshu bro has explained in the most detailed way possible....enjoy your baby...

Thanks for clearing the confusion Jairaman, I have owned 3 bikes before and never ever someone told me to fill only 4-5 ltrs petrol till first service, didnt sound logical.
I dealt with Raj Yamaha OMR and stay near Medavakkam. You are lucky to be have been treated well, i felt things were rather rushed in my case.
