u can. P200 also has 35W bulbs as stock.

can anyone use P220's bulbs for R15?
    Nope.

BTW, why don't you check out the Osram SilverStar? Also a good 35W HID from Philips or Bosch.

      • Abt Rims Cracking in R15

Guys, am planning to R15 soon, though i was waiting for the ECU upgrade. Still confused whether to wait for Ninja or to go R15. Coming to the topic,Now when going through all the post, i find complaints abt the Rims cracking.. Guys, what kind of bumps did u hit in and at what speeds.. the one possible reason could be all because its a tubeless tires. when u normally hit a bump at high speeds, the tires will under go a huge deformation towards rims, closing the gaps with rims and the tire patch. this will make the sealing effect of the tires with the rims to come done and resulting in loss of air pressure, thus the hit will directly taken by the Rims. Then all is history... this wil be most applicable if u hit a pot hole or sharp obstacles, rather than speed breakers...which has a smooth profile.

I would not advise you towards either but just lay the facts before you. You've heard some guys whose rims have deformed, and there are people like me who've hit humongous potholes at 100+ and no damage. I ride in Kanpur, 4.5k kms in 3 months, and I'd say the roads here aren't exactly 'good', if you catch my drift. Its just a statistical thing.

And to bust the popular 'no power at lower rpm myth', I'd just say I've dragged against P200s, Karizmas and won, and I don't consider myself to be a tearaway rider by any means. I would advise you to ride the bike first, at least for 5-10 kms before deciding anything. There is no news on the Ninja and I don't know how soon there'll be any news.

if the road side guy used conventional means to seal the puncture, then your tubeless tyres are gone. The air seal may have ruptured if he removed the tyre from the rim conventionally and is causing the leak. Get ready to shell out some cash.

Go to a good tyre shop to seal tubeless tyre punctures. And till you find one, keep filling in air from every passing petrol pump. The tyres will deflate slowly allowing you to travel a good distance between refills.

Nothin to worry , just check if he has made the tyre beading sit properly throughout.

                FYI
when overdrive took the r15 for the 10th aniversary issue , it had a puncture
conventional fix done on the highway
some local tube fixed , ran with no issues.
(The rider my friend was an xbhpian oly..)

but avoid conventional guys working on the tyre.

I too had a puncture , i ran with it for about 110 or so kms ,
took just 4 mins to fix the punctute.

1.how did he fix the puncture ?
2.Check where the leakage is from .Air valve/Nozzle/place where he fixed the puncture-leakage from there?

But dosen't that make you loose the advantage of having tubeless tires installed in the first place?

                  • when u dont have a tubeless repair kit with u at that point of time , what ll u do ?

yes tubless has an adv no doubt , that doesn mean , it can never give way.it loses pressure gradually when has a small puncture , if a big one , then ??
the adv is when the nail has pierced and is staying in ther , u still can ride ,
i got a puncture cos of my offroading :-D
not a nail or anything .
stones were the cause for my puncture , the rubber from the tyre had come off.. like a hole u see..then tubeless wont help u much

Hmm... Maybe that would work as a last resort.... But then, I'm not sure if it would damage the valve. Chances are that it would. Anyway, tubeless repair kits arent hard to carry, and if I am planning to do some offroading, I would definetly carry one.

Besides, when the hole is too big to be fixed by a tubeless repair kit, I guess even fitting a conventional tube wont last long.

                      • Went to the Bajaj Probiking showroom-they expect the Ninja in March 2009 (aaprox.1.8 ex-showroom). Internationally also, production of the 08 Ninja has stopped, 09 Ninja will be priced 500$above the 08 version, but no major changes-still an analog display with a carb, no FI yet. Still feel the 1 5 is technologically a superior vehicle, though the Ninja will churn out somewhere close to 30 horses. Would suggest the R15 as better VFM!

first he pulled out the nail that was stuck in....made the hole a little larger with the kit.....put a solution on the mouth of the hole ....folded the strip and pushed inside it.....done
