Also, I'm planning to get the first servicing done before 1000kms; i.e. after approx 750-800 kms.. would it be OK?

      Please help!
Well, firstly, the bike does 72kmph at 5k rpm in the 6th gear.. (right??)
afaik it does..at 4k its 60kmph for sure..
as your bike is new, and yes it is terribly hot these days, its not surprising for the fan to start.. new engines tend to heat up more..
all is well till no problem light is lit on the display...

just check the coolant level to be sure..
      Enjoy your baby!
after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

      • Well, it does 80kmph at 6500RPM at 6th for sure... I simply does not let it exceed 70 kmph by applying breaks and engine breaking as I am a very new rider and the above mentioned 7 kms stretch does have 2 crossings as well and Autowalas of Noida think themselves king of the road. so I always keep a safer distance from them. Moreover, as far as i know and I might be wrong, the payload on a vehicle also effects its speed at any given power output from engine; I'm just 46 kgs. So, I have to be more carefull in case of sudden breaking enroute.

        • Guys, I just wanted to share an incident here concerning New bikes.

I went to TGIP mall, Noida and parked the New R-15 in the parking lot there. Well, I had not recieved the registration number till then and so, it just had a temp number sticker from showroom on the front number plate.

When I returned to parking after an hour, I find the bike is not in right condition.
          1. LHS RVM was completely loose, it fell downwards while just folding the side stand to move the bike.
          2. LHS indicator was hanged out of the socket
          3. There were two scratches on both sides of Fairings.

Third point above made me think whether it was just mistakes of the fellow biker parking his bike (a Pulsar too close but not that it would have scratched) or someone's deliberate attempts as if there was some mistake of the pulsar guy, only scratches would be on LHS and never could it be on RHS. Moreover the RVM would not get so loose in case of slight impact while parking a bike.

I was shocked as there were atleast three more R-15s and a Harley Davidson parked there a well. So, its just not a case of a fancy bike for the average joe there.

          • maybe the bike on the right fell on your R15...
which in turn rolled of the side stand and fell on the bike on it's left.

            • ^^ the bike was still on the same location i.e if it fell and any of guards had picked it up, it won't be at exactly the same position and on the right of the bike was a tree and then the row of bikes.. so any bike falling on the right is not possible.

My point in sharing the incident wasn't that I'm berating fellow bikers there; its just to point that people get too curious about new Items, whether its a bike or a mobile; and sometimes, these people do something crazy out of curiosity that results in something like I mentioned; we all face such situation sometimes.

                • 14000 kms Service. (Issues)

Bike is 1 year and 4 months. Today was its 5/6th service. I exactly doesn't remember as i do all the service myself. Maintenance is pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

these are the things which was done

                  1) Steering tightened as it was rocking like mad under braking.
                  2) Air filter replaced.
                  3) Chain tightened and lubed.
                  4) Front Brake pads checked and cleaned.

Last oil change was at 10000 kms. was using 300v before it and now using Mobil 1 R4T which i think is pretty good. so left it there. i'm planning to change it after another 1000 kms.
Engine is performing fabulously. No issues yet.

The slight issue i would like to discuss here is, while i was replacing the air filter i noticed a bit of oil in the airbox(not much, maybe around 5ml and is not enough to show a decrease in oil level on the dip stick). It is coming through the crankcase breather hose and not the intake. i've been noticing it quite a few times whenever i remove the filter to clean it. does anyone noticed anything similar on their machines?

I experienced the same issue at the time of my first service. The oil inside the air filter compartment was so much that is went into the filter and fuc*ed it up, had to get a new air filter at the first service itself. Anyways they gave me a silly excuse that the company might have put in a fuc*ed filter at the time of assembly. I talked with the service engineer as well and he too said to ride 200-250 kms and come back for a checkup of the compartment. I did so and there was no oil in there then.

A couple of weeks ago, I opened my air filter comp. to clean the filter and found the inside of the box a little oily. Didn't go the the svc as my bike is rolling well at the moment.

I've seen this phenomenon occurring in my friends' bikes too, strangely the svc has no explanation for this. Even the regional service engineer had no clue as to why this is happening.

The only thing that I've noticed in the bikes with this phenomenon is that all of these bikes have had falls. I'm thinking that when the bike falls to the side, some of the oil comes into the air box.

No, bro that is not ok. The front tire has a trad in the center which is not present on the back tire. The purpose of this tread is to remove most of the water from under the bike, if you put a rear tire on the front then there will not be such tread on it hence the bike has much more chances of skidding in rains.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.
