    2) why? it'll screw up the handling, I had a 120 zapper wyde when i bought mine second hand, the bigger rear tyre tilted the bike forwards, it felt scary, especialy whilst braking. The agility will also be reduced, therefore fun reduced, if you must go with the bigger tyre a 120 is about as big as you can go, this will give you around 2mm clearance of the swing arm and go with a lower profile, such as a 70, this should reduce the tilting effect, your bike your choice, the stock set up is very good.

    3) I've got bixenons on mine and no probs, the angel eyes will consume extra juice.
thnxx a lot for your suggestions buddy

Ya i also felt that the bike was overheating for my first 300-400 kms but after 1st service its changed for good. So no worries there.
P.S.- Since your bike is new many of your friends would like to try their hand on it but please refrain from tossing away your keys. My bike is a month old and i've been gifted a hanging indicator and headlight scratches from my "dear" friends.
      HAVE FUN
      thanks man..
ok so that overheating is common..
yaa will keep that in mind and had first only decided that wont be giving my bike to anyone until 2.5-3k atleast..

Had done teflon coating 1 month ago but still it happened and today morning tried using amway silicon glaze but still the shine is not there. Is there any other way out to bring the shine back or has anyone else faced the same issues?
Other than giving it a good wipe with a rubbing compound nothing much can be done about it. Thats why its said to use a soft cloth on your tank and then put the tank bag.

Something wrong I have touched 138kmph with pillion. Whatsoever even if the pillion is on heavy side 120 mark should be easily available. Did you check tyre pressure, chain slack?

3- have seen a lot of r15s with angel eyes and projector lamps. are they advisable??...i mean dont they affect the batteries performance.

          please answer my queries...someone...anyone....
What do you need the broader tyres for, look R15 has the best stock tyre on any Indian bike. Dont hamper with it.
Yes Angel Eyes and Projector does impact on Batteries, if not done properly be ready to be stranded anywhere, as electrical is one of the core of this bike

Guys my bike is overheating a lot, is it common in first few KM, my bike has done 12KM..
First of all Congrats for the new bike, do the run-in properly and read the manual. Yes initially the bike heats up, but do check coolant level.

Suddently realized a cow in front, and managed to turn the bike by God's grace. The bike just touched the cow.
It was as if the cow came out of nowhere.
Is it common problem that the headlight of R-15 is very weak. Do you guys face the same problem. If yes, then please suggest some good headlights so that i can drive safely at night.
Also can i use HID or Xenon (dont know much about them) in bikes??
Good that you and your bike got saved, I never faced any problem with R15 stock bulbs, though they are not as bright as they could have been but yes its very much as per standard.

Average life of a battery is anywhere in between 1.5yrs to 3yrs. To keep it in optimum condition at every 3rd service tell the mechanic to check the voltage of the battery, if low then get it charged. I also have Minda battery on my bike. I have done 23K kms already with few tours in absolutely crazy weather, either heavy rains for 2 to 3 days or freezing temperature, but never had any problem. Just dont play with electrical of the bike and I am sure you will have a hassle free battery tenure

                    Folk xBhpians,
The black paint coated in rim of the rear wheel has been gone. I mean paint has leaved the metal to its original color. It's around 6cm long and 2cm wide.
Does warrenty covers or what the heck happened? Anybody faced the similar problem? I am at 1.5K by Odo.

                        • Used R15, 2008, 15000kms, how much should i pay?

Recently I have seen a R15, 2008 model, 15000 kms run, stock bike. The seller is quoting 68k.

The bike looked good to the naked eye. took a test drive. The front seemed a bit wobbling when taking turn. the seller said its because low air pressure in Tyre. also had some scratches on left panel. Rear Tyre is almost bald.

                          How much should i negotiate?

will price come down of used bikes once the new 2011 model is launched? Should i wait?

PS. Is yamaha still offering "The Burning Kit"?

                            • The screws holding the ignition switch were getting loose. Had a look at them, and they are something really different. I think they are there to act as theft deterrent.

Seen them before? Since I did not have anything to tighten them with, I replaced them with regular Allen bolts!

BTW, anyone knows what they are called?
