+1 also check the clip that tightens the hose to the radiator. Mine was 'lost' by the factory shop!
A lil bit of leekage is normal after a top up.

What ever I do be the motul chain lube after the motul chain clean or even the pressure wash after cleaning with kerosene, the chain noise returns in next one week. Nowdays this matters me a lot and am getting thoughts replacing my love with something that has the closed chain. But the only prob is that I could not find any better replacement for Yammie :-).

I think the open chain is a big prob in our roads atleast here in Chennai......so manufacturers have to think a lot before launching open chain bikes.....I am thinking of how it will be for dazzlers, twisters, etc....I think honda's smoothness will be lost becoz of the chain prob....
Remove front sprocket and install it inside out, while you are at it do check for clogging on front sprocket!

Wanted to ask this since quite sometime..

Whenever I brake a little harder on my bike, I tend to slip forward.Even though I grab the tank tightly with my thighs, still I feel that there is a little dragging forward..

So has anybody pasted any strip (don't know what to call it) on the tank where the thighs grab the tank in order to get a small amount of friction between the thighs and the tank to prevent any slippage.

Stomp grips arent exactly used for the purpose as mentioned.
You might want to rather put a seat cover... cheaper and can be customised.

IF you WANT a stomp grip, you can always get a strip and cut it according to your requirement

Don't rub salt to our wounds. Had done close to 12,000 kms last year till august and by now have barely managed 14.5K

I feel every time I look at the odo, but one hard ride and am yearning for more. Wish I had more time to spare.

      • friends, since Yesterday, I've been getting a weird smell from the front side of my Bike. Not sure from where it is coming but it smells like rubber burning. Its distinct when I inhale near the vented Right side fairing. Its coming just after a short 1km ride.
I'm afraid. Though its not much in the open, its quite felt after I park her in my garage which is enclosed.
        Please Help

        • Guys...
I missed out many pages here.. But yes.. I got my R15, I'm calling her as Tigress
Bangalore Wheels Guys delivered the bike on my birthday as they promised... I finished my Break-in (Run-in) Period with Manual instructions. Her First service also over within 15 days

The only problem I got was front windshield vibration, I"m the culprit. Did Vinyl stickering but while placing it back, screws were not tightened enough and false neutral, While giving to first service, the guy from BW was calm cool, he listen what ever I told him and written these two points and sorted out

When I hit 1100 km... I took her to NICE Road, As Kormangala inner ring road has lot of traffic and police speed Gun problems...
Touched 139 Kmph !! So far my record was 115 Kmph from P200 (Friend bike).

Find some of the pics of my Tigress from the below Picasa Link.... IMHO I Love the Brilliant engineering Yamaha has did for just 150cc Engine... Yes YAMAHA.. I'm Proud that I choose this (Very Poor in selections )

              • Rode my R15, 3 months after the accident

Today rode the bike three months after my accident on the track where i broke my forearm. The ride was within the society for 2 min.

Hand still recovering, but bike still feels the same, needs chain lubing and some more air in tyres.

Will have to take precaution of exerting otherwise will lead to complications.

but the feeling was was very nice

                • Coolant, main stand query

                  Hi Guys,

Has anyone here tried to top up the coolant themselves, apart from during the regular service ? I can see that the left side panel can be removed using three screws and then the coolant reservoir becomes visible.

What grade/make if coolant is recommended ? I haven't seen any recommendations for the coolant specs in the manual.

Secondly, what about the main stand - I have a spare rx 100 main stand which I think will suit the size of the stand pin holes in the underbody. What about the stand pin ? Does a RX100 stand pin do it ?

Regarding coolant you can do it but yes do check the measurement/mixture ratio or you can also buy ready made coolant which yamaha sells and the measurement is given in manual.

Regarding main stand i too tried with Rx100 but it dint worked bro so fitted R15 main stand and its quiet good.

Bro you can use Motocool from MOTUL and it can readily be poured in as it does not need any mixing and all.
Fun begins only after 6K rpm.....!
