Jokes apart, if you cannot see it by opening the tank, then just ignore it. I don't think anything major can go wrong.

      • Guys,

I have a weird Problem with my R15.

The Handles wobble very badly at high rpm in any gear. Thats is, if I release both my hands from the handles, they shiver very badly and all the vibes are absorbed my me which is really painful.

Took the bike to the Service center they wanted to change the Cone set with the Bearings, did swap them with a new one.

BUT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE EVEN WITH THE NEW ONES, I can trust the service center as the job was done in front of my eyes and I have the old cone and bearings with me.

One mechanic told me it could be the Engine mount points which can cause the frame to vibrate, Checked them its fine. Another friend told me it could be the Wheel, so took the Tyre and alloy to MRF and they promised the tire is perfect in shape and so do the disc plate.

        Any Suggestion please?

The brake lever can be adjusted very little. You can carry it out from the rear of the pedal where it is connected to the actuator.

          • Guys, the remedy for the clutch bell noise is to replace the clutch bell right? Is there any other parts to be changed?

Also, will the new clutch bell be of the same design as the original or will I lose a clutch plate?

Is it normal?
                  Normal.

                  5. My bike is from the 1st lot. Previous owner did not get the radiator changed to the modified one. I got the coolant topped up yesterday. Found few drops of coolant below the horn. Is it radiator leaking or is it excess coolant trying to break free? Will Yamaha replace it U/W? its 3yrs and only 7k kms old.
We spoke about this offline. I say go to SVC, say your name is Harsha&claim it. If they refuse, I'll give you contacts of Yamaha Area Sales Manager-I was refused duplicate keys when I lost mine. He got me a new set.

Messaged you regarding this too. Since its an MF battery, it will get charged in running. However, to be on the safe side, get it charged for atleast 2 hours today while the being is getting serviced.
If the bike was cranked up once in a while like once in 15 days atleast, the battery will still be good. My bike's battery is still fine, July 2008-present-touchwood. I have left it unused twice for a month, cranked up every week.

And finally, Head lights. Best mods for a brighter light and better spread? No to HID!
No HID, then next best is one 55/60w in high beam. That's the max the stock battery can handle.

You are not wrong bro, a bit of worry is common, but bikes are not as delicate as we think they are.
My friend has dropped Coke/gutkha etc. into his fuel tank unknowingly&nothing happened!
The first time when I saw rust on my R15's chain after 4 days of standing in cylonic rains, I also wondered whether the chain is gone, but on lubing it was gone!
As for xBhp, I have been riding bikes since 10 years, but learnt the max in the last couple of years after joining xBhp!

Check the front rims-if they are bent, this is bound to happen.
If the handle is turning freely from side to side then the cone set is still good.
After this, if the problem is not solved, check the oil in the front shockers.
Mostly the problem will lie in the wheel bearings or wheel itself, like JD has suggested.

You can get a new clutch bell&helical-I got it for Vibhanshu from Bangalore Perfect Riders. Donno whether it solved his problem or not. Santa's solution is a sure shot though.

Resetting = replacing the rubber dampers? And, along with this, I have to replace the helical gear.

SVC will do this right? Else, please suggest a good place.

Resetting = getting the gap between the inside of the clutch bell reduced at a lathe machine, so that the housing does not have play. This is what causes the vibration.
You need to take it to a lathe machine to get this done.
I doubt if you need to get the helical changed.

I'll advice you to wait till you get the 1st service done. Only for two reasons 1.engine gets the time it need and 2. you'll get used to the riding position.

Sure..i am trying to get used to this new riding style....
This is the third day on my new R15 and thing i realized was it has amazing Breaking...
Two instances in two days...both the times bike saved the pedestrains with margin of Few cms... (bike is still in ride-in no rash driving from myside :P )

                        • The vibration damper on the right handle bar has become free i.e. its rotating freely without getting tightened

The Stupid SVC tells its normal. When I tell them its causing vibrations in the handle bar, buggers give a devilish smile.

Has it lost the threadings which keeps it tight??
Do i need to replace it? Cost?

In case of the former, the speedo sendor would be ok. In the latter, the culprit would be the speedo sensor.

I assume the tachometer is still working fine, isn't it?

A service center here (Bangalore Wheels) recommends a periodic maintenance at 12k Kms service. It costs approx INR 3k, & is more to rip the customer off, than to take care of the bike. 3k is hideous!!
I got the shock-absorber oil replaced & steering bearing greased at 10k. & the swingarm & monoshock greased at 12k. No other internal-parts greasing business till date. Bike is at 22k.

It costed about INR 550 when I had to get it replaced about a year ago. My bike was under warranty, so it was a FOC replacement.

True! You can do one thing.
Someone had mentioned that the speedo sensor could act weird due to lack of lubrication (I don't know if it actually needs lubrication)and applying some grease on it might bring it back to life. Do check if you are interested to save INR 600.
