Congrats on the new bike, disappointed to read the above words..
      1) A unregistered bike is not street legal (atleast in maharashtra)
      2) Below 1000KMs you should stick to the run in procedure.. this will make the bike a lot more fun later on!

Ever wondered if something bad happened then what kind of trouble you would have entered into by riding an unregistered bike?

What happened to your bike, Is it now, out of hospital. or still curing process is going on?? Please mention the hospital bill too.

The dealer has paid some nice 10K worth of goodies for my bike, but the bike ran into some issue like the tank clip nut flying away and all... and sluggish performance, so the service head west has agreed to a review and a complete check to make it as good as new..
        lets see!

Ok. to be honest, i dont know what springs. See, normally the clutch is engaed due to the pressure of the pressure springs. When we press the lever, it is disengaged due to a cam arrangement and when we release it, it is again engaged. So with greater spring pressure, the clutch engages more quickly and hence it reduces the time of clutch engagement.

Also under full throttle in 4th gear around 9k Rpm, try shifting to 5th keeping the throttle wide open. You will find a delay in Clutch engagement due to more load. That can be reduced a bit with an uprated springs.

The negative effect is, the clutch lever feels very hard also engagement will be sharp....Will be a pain int he ass when you ride in stop go traffic

            NOTE:
What ever be it, a better rider will be faster than me even with a pathetic bike. Thats the truth in the EOD

            • ^^ being used to the clutch on the bullet, i use the R15 clutch with 1 or maybe 2 fingers. so a harder clutch wont matter to me. But im curious about the performance gains.

Got any stiffer springs that could be tried?? or before that why dont you try putting a washer inbetween the springs and the bolts, that will increase the stiffness of the springs since they will be compressed more.

              • Odd Sound & Faring Ques

My R15 has run 750Km and I suddenly notice some Kcch Kcch sound has developd from the engine. Any idea what this could be? (I have been careful by keeping the RPM under 5000 < 500Km and under 7000 RPM after that).

Can any one also tell me if there is a mesh which is made of plastic or some such material present on the inside part of the left hand side faring. It is positively visible from the right hand side of the faring but I cant seem to remember if it should be or not be present on the left hand side.

Any help would be much appreciated.

                • ^^ the mesh comes only on the right hand side. Its not present on the left. it was a mod carried out by yamaha, when it was found that that area was being used to store a cleaning cloth during riding, which could catch fire. its a vent for the air going thru the radiator to exit from, so no obstructions should be there on either side.

Cool Pic! Definitely not the chain - got the chained cleaned and lubed at 500 Km. This noise seems to be coming from the area somewhere below the tank (not the usual fuel pump noise).

                        • is the sound during idling, or during riding??? you should give the bike for a general check and get it done in your presence.. all engine mounts, air filter box etc.

Dude get the chain cleaned and lubricated and this sound will be gone. I've heard similar kind of sound when at high speeds throttle was released and the bike was allowed to slow down on its on.
Its due to the mud. Get the chain thing done and it will be gone.
