u can get FE easily around 40kmpl .. as i said my tier pressure also very low and moreover .. i'll always go to office at around 70kmph speed some times even more .. and in citi limit i always try to keep it below 60 and around 60 and most of times i ride in power band

hi all,

my yellow r15 is 4 months old and moreover i got my battery 2 months after buying i.e in march..dealer gave me a battery of minda company and just after 1 month and 20 days it got discharged when i said this prob to the dealer he said r15 battery need to be charged every 2 months ..is this true??
do other r15 owners face the same problem..

OR
can i claim the warranty and get a new one??
The same dealer provided tata green batteries to other customers.so dont they give battery of same manufacturer to all.isnt it mandatory??

^^ nope, he is duping you. the R15 should come with a tata green battery, and if he gives you more story, just tell him you are escalating the matter to the company, and have already send them a mail and will be calling the service head of the company to confirm the same.

Guys utter BS is sometimes shoved by these dealers, just ask for a clarification and confirmation from the company, and they will run like wet cats... literally...

That is crap. 12,000 km done. Still Fires up at the press of my thumb.So, just telling you the reality. R15 Batteries are MF Batteries. I have heard the new lot is coming with Minda Batteries. Dont know much about this though.

Vow Vow!! You get 14kmpl? and 20 when ridden sanely? You need to check up with the SS Immediately! and at what RPM in the 6th Gear? Your bike is not fine. Where are you located??

an info on radiator for r15 owners.

hi ,I had a damaged radiator while coming back from pune for no apparent reason (coolant was leaking all over the road).

gave the bike for repairs & got it replaced for free under warranty.

now here's the news.apparently yamaha have agreed to the design flaw of horn mount in 2008/2009 R15s beacuse of which the radiator gets damaged.

They have now asked all dealers/service centres to replace these radiators with new ones.

the info was shared by dealer but was advised not to disclose

.reason being first they need to replace at their own cost & than send to yamaha for reimbursement .

so please enquire in your respective areas & get it replaced if you can.

ps:my bike is out of warranty having covered 38k kms in 1.5 years ,but against manufacturing defect this is not applicable.

^^ i dont think they are replacing radiators, but actually the clamp holding the hose to the radiator, and repositioning the horn mount. Thats afaik

Mine started leaking couple of months ago, but the dealer never gave me any such info. So they fixed it with m-seal + some other fix for the time being.
Now i'll try after I come back from Leh.

I think so too, but in case the radiator has already started leaking, maybe they would replace that too, like in this guy's case.
My bike is nearing 2 years&warranty completion too. I was thinking whether to get the clamp change done, or whether to get the complete horn assembly of the later version fitted-would that be possible?
