I wont recommend you to go fully synthetic at the very first service!
Let your bike have her time then switch to fully synthetic, till then minrel or semi will do the job pretty well..

They didnt change mine oil filter at the first service, though It was in good condition.

    • I tried aftermarket screws with rubber washers for the visor, but they are damaging the plastic around the holes where the screw goes in. Now I understand why it was made in plastic by Yamaha&why they are charging so much for them!

So you changed them to genuine Yamaha screws or running with after market screws? If after market screws starts to bite the plastic, I think windshield starts to vibrate very soon!

Hey Mithun am completely out of action these days, even i was planning to change the rear tyre. (Hitting 21000 kms with 1 puncture) But is it so scarce, even after one year of launch?

I can get the tyres from my hometown Jamshedpur/Ranchi but it will cost a bomb for the delivery. Not worth it.

I will call up my friend to ask how/what are the possibilities etc etc. to get the tyre here in blr from there. Although i do not have any hope to get it from such a far distance.

If they are metal, it won't work. I tried metal ones with rubber washers. They will bite into the plastic&soon cause it to crack soon.

Mine has done close to 24k and I am not riding from 15 days because of the tyre.. Will look for one more week and consider IRC or any other good tyre with same profile

Well the washer is there to protect the plastic na???
The SC guys told me to use pulsar's screw with rubber washers as the plastic ones are unavailable...they said that it won't cause any harm n will fit perfectly....
The lower two screws on either side fits well into the hole along with the rubber washers but for the upper two holes you have to use a slightly thinner washer since the length of the screws after fitting the washer is too short to fit properly....

                          • I had shifted to Castol Power 1 Racing for my R15 at around 4450 kms, since then Ive completed 2700 kms. Has anyone else used CP1R on their R15 ? After how many kms did you change the engine oil ? Should I stick with CP1R or Motul 300 v 15w50 4T ? Has anyone here used both on their R15 ?

                            • Guys, planning to change the stock headlamps with one of the following by tomorrow. Which one of the following is better wrt illumination, spread of light etc? Wont ask which one's better wrt to poer consumption as all three are 12v, 55/60W bulbs. But still if at all there's any power consumption difference or heat up problem, which one's better?

I know there's risk of battery draining with the use of these bulbs but here in Mumbai Yamaha SS are selling these bulbs for R15 and the service engineer is saying there wont be much of a problem with the use of these bulbs unless you keep the headlights on while the engine isn't running.

Anyways, kindly suggest which one's better amongst the following 3?

                              • i had a very risky issue today. The bike was parked, and i noticed some oil on the ground. Thankfully it wasnt from my bike, but to my suprise i found the idle screw on the ground!!!

Tried installing it, and was able to do it in the third attempt, i brought the C0 to zero from +2, but the bike is not ready to idle above 1200-1250 rpm, no matter how much i open it out. If i open it too much, then the screw can fall out again. THough max should be upto 3 turns out, at which it comes to 1200 rpm only.
