No way man. All the electricals are DC. There's nothing running on AC. Simple test: Do the pilot lights switch on when the engine is not running?

Ans: Yes, so they are on DC . The flickering must be a figment of your imagination!!!

Quite a few ppl reported paint chipping away from the body especially the rear grab rails, but engine...?! I don't know how this can happen or if engine vibes by themselves are enough to chip the paint off! 5k kms done, haven't faced this problem yet, hope I never will.

crap. You're right, of course they switch on when the engine is off.. I guess the flickering's just the byproduct of an overworked mind.

Another thing, the R15 has a compression ratio of 11.4:1 right? Is it advisable to use higher octane fuels? Not that I'm facing any problem, I've been using Shell Super from a long time and its giving me an average of 42-44 kmpl in the city. What about you guys? Will there be any harm in using higher octane fuels in the long run?

The pilot lamps don't flicker, but dim when you press the brake lever, or use the indicator. Same happens when the engine's running too... No worries, weak battery I guess...

Its simple! Loosen the axle nut, loosen the brake brace nut (the nut that holds the brake assembly onto the swing arm) and slide the axle back if you want to tighten it, and count the number on the chain pullers on both sides on the swing arm. turning them to higher numbers tightens the chain, and on lower numbers loosens the chain. But make sure the alignment is correct. I run a fingernail and count the grooves, and keep it same for both sides...
            You get the point?? :D

Don't know the cost of such a tyre, but I don't think the stock wheel and swingarm can support a 140 section tyr. It'll totally ruin your handling and mileage too

                    • Painting the Alloys...

Guys..I own a blue R15...It has been with me for the last 5 months... Now I plan to paint the alloys with a colour similar to my bikes colour..preferably the same colour which would shine a little more(more metallic)... What do you say. Will it look good...where do I get the same paint colour of my bike...will the SVC guys do it.

                        • First minor crash (With a crow).....

It was around 6:40am in the morning and me n my friend were getting late for college.....So i was ripping my bike @132 km/hr on NH-5(as there was no traffic). And then there was this dead Dog in the middle of the road which was the feast for a group of crow....I thought of going around the dog widout disturbing the group of crows but when I reached near the dog suddenly a stupid, idiot crow thought of crossing the road without taking a look at the oncoming traffic and then WHAM......something had hit my front cowl @132km/hr and i heard some kind of a plastic cracking......leaned over and checked the headlight but there was nothing wrong with it........after driving a good 600~700 metres i thought of pulling over and checking my bike again....so i stopped by the side of the road and as soon as i put my bike on the side stand, the crow fell near the front wheel....man I was like....the crow was stuck near the radiator area and there was blood marks in the inner side of the cowl.....then i checked the entire inner side of the fairing for any cracks but luckily there were none....finally checked all the electrical operations(horn, headlight etc..) in the bike, cursed the crow for not wearing a helmet and then proceeded to college @ 40~50 km/hr...

Similar experience with me too. Was proceeding on the road at around a 100 when I saw this bunch of crows on the road. Thought as usual the birds will fly away when they feel the vehicle approaching. But lo, one of the crows just stayed there and wham! There was an impact sound , but apparently, the crow had managed to fly past the bike through the gap between the wheel and the fairing
                                No dead bird, no blood
