Yes, the R15's sales have taken a beating with the introduction of the P220 DTSi & ZMR... and then there is the Ninja too. But I don't think Yamaha should press a panic button and screw up all the good things they did in the past two years.

So, an R125 at the cost of a Ninja 250. And with the 1/3rd cost R15 having better performance than the R125... only thing left for it is the looks and equipment.

Thanks for the quick reply. Any reasons why the charge went so low? Just keeping the parking lights on for 10min or so drains the battery? Doesn't such draining of the battery affect its life?Originally posted by rossiter View PostPost moved and merged
@hifisharu: You already posted about it here, so there was no necessity to start another thread for it.
EDIT: As for your query on whether push starting an FI bike is harmful.. No it is not!
YouTube - Push starting an R1

Anyway, as long as you have enough juice in the battery to power up the ECU, you're fine with a push start. If the ECU doesn't power up, then you'll have to charge the battery up. In your case, since you rode home, the battery would have gotten some charge. And no, you don't have to replace the battery.

Well thats the European model..Originally posted by HydBiker View Post
And if/when this little monster comes our hometown it could be given some desi touch bY yammys to lurr down the cost. Maybe some superbly tweaked and tuned gladi's engine with a FI bang would do the trick for them. Upabove wo shouldnt forget that if there would be any R15 for foreign then it would be much more costlier then our original one, only reason being that it would be straighly meant for performing and costly looks overall. We shouldn't forget that even the paint quality can make a diffrence of as much as 20-30k.
Anyways..anything above the 85k mark will harm both the bikes sales and up above the R125 sales will go into a plight. Though there are people who pay for looks, u see!!

R15 is a result of the same process.Originally posted by Shanz View PostWell thats the European model..

Why another one now? unless Yamaha wants to do a Bajaj with a bike every 10 or 20cc.

To be honest Gladii and Alba dosnt make any significant share of the sales.Originally posted by HydBiker View PostR15 is a result of the same process.

So if something isnt being loved by people then why it should be continued? Reason behind it is, that Yamaha dosnt have any option for these bikes till the R125 arrival. But before the launch of R125 it should, at any rate, be price competetively to give any positive results. Maybe thats why they are taking time to make the cost go down by any means possible..
Secondly why a new R15. Name even a single bike from Yamaha stables which isn't upgraded till now? Why the Yamaha isnt making any new engines after the early 09? Why are they only and Only clearing the old stock? Why the waiting period of bike is being increased and is now even more than the waiting period when it was launched? Why Yamaha launched only new bodies to increase the sales of 15? Why yamaha hadnt launched any real product in the their non yeilding 125cc segment till now?
Hint : there is something special going in the yamaha stables!
One can say that same had been heard and said about the Fazer250 which is no more than a mere rumor. But we have to understand that whatewer is launched in the 250cc segment will have a direct competition against the mighty Ninja and not the pulsar 250's or any other such thing. So if you want to sell something then it should have better or equal standards to the already available product. If there's a fully faired tacheon on the termac then there should be launched a product which could give a direct beat to the existing leader. So a R250 is more aspiring than the Fazer 250.

Okay, this post is a little OT but as owners of this bike, I think we should respond to this.

your questions are valid. your logic is good. but what it points to is unrealistic. Yes, there can be a surprise. But not from this angle.Originally posted by Shanz View PostHint : there is something special going in the yamaha stables!
Also, Yamaha created a new segment with the R15. Why would they not create another segment with something like a FZ250???

Hey guys.. when we switch on the ignition.. how many lights on the meter lights up initially.. coz on mine.. only 4 lights up.. and after one complete check.. only neutral light glows if its in Neutral.. I guess all 5 of them should glow right.. the one that's not glowing is the Engine trouble light.. Is that a big issue?----------------------------------------------------
