It actually says to keep it under 5000 rpm for 0-500kms on odo, and 7500 rpm from 500-1000kms. It should do about 70 @ 5k rpm, above 80 @ 7.5k rpm.

Yes, so you can go on 65-70kmph on 6th if you wanna keep it under 5k. You can take it to higher rpms once in a while, its not harmful.

The owner's manual lists the capacity of the battery as 3.5Ah. Kinda surprising considering all the electricals are DC. Even with a HID kit, battery doesn't suffer

hi guys..yesterday the "Engine Trouble Warning Light" in my friend's R15 started blinking for about 3hrs..the bike's performance and electricals were normal..the light stopped blinking after that...what could be the reason???...he did not meet with any accident or drop the bike till now..the bike is 2months old and has done 1500+kms..

One sicko idiot.. dropped my bike while it was there for parking.. my right RVM is gone... and my right footrest too broken into two pieces.. I can't understand why people are so envious... if they can't get happiness for themselves then why not reserve them for other people.
Hey guys, I know the prices are somewhere in the thread.. but i am one hel of a lazy monk.. so can you please give me the showroom price of right RVM and right footrest of rider.

Well u can u easily go at 65-70 kmph in 6th gear as u the tachometer doesnt cross 7.5k...but u shouldnt cross 5k during the first 500kms and 7.5k till next 500km as per the manual

Its strange that the engine trouble light came on without any fall or something of that sort.. Since the bike is running fine now, I don't think there is a cause of concern.. But if it comes on again, please tell him to get it checked at the SVC without any delays..

Really sorry to hear about your bike's fall. Mine also fell in a similar way when it was new. Take it easy, I believe all bikes fall atleast once in their lifetime, so good ours fell initially&no more thereon!
One piece of advice: Get the mainstand fitted, it really makes it secure in parking. If parking in sidestand, always park in gear.
RVM costs Rs.251 as Krishnakant mentioned. Footrest is Rs.65, but the footrest slider is Rs.250 odd. Hope you picked it up when it fell. Its a bit weird how it fell though-it has a spring reverse action. Anyways, even if you didn't pick the footrest slider up, I would suggest the FZ's slider which is maybe 1/10th the cost of the R15's&is a direct fit.

I saw one here at Pearl the other day-it was red in color. It was for a customer, but they can get it against order&advance payment. Why don't you try here at Venkatesha/Pearl for it?

what about the RVM.. 250 rs a piece or for a set.
My mirror broke from a joint where its movable (the plastic hub attached to the mirror and iron rod , i mean from where we adjust the mirror position. So can I get just the mirror or do i have to buy the whole set including the iron piece rod as well...

In my case what happened was-the slider joint broke off causing the slider to fall down, but the footpeg itself was fine. I got a new footpeg for Rs.65&put the slider onto it. You can do the same.
Each mirror costs Rs.251. I didn't quite get what you were saying-did it break at the point where you adjust the mirror, or where it mounts onto the dome?
If the former is the case, the mirror comes with the square glass plus the rod till the dome.
If it is the latter, you would need to get the bracket on the dome changed as well.
Both are nothing to worry about, as long as the dome itself didn't crack.
If the dome has cracked, it will cost you around Rs.300.
If the headlights have cracked, you are in for an expense of around Rs.2600.

I faced the starting problem twice. Same problem. But definitely not due to cold starts. It took some work with the push button to get the engine up. I don't think it was battery problem either.

But, normally the bike starts at the first push even if you are touching her after a month.

That light can come in for a variety of reasons from an engine problem to a week battery. If you really want to know that, pls call up your SC, ask them to keep the FID tool ready and get the bike diagnosed with that.
