once i cross the 7 k mark in 2nd gear i sense some serious vibrations. in higher gears i sense the same but only after 9.5 k rpm. why is it?only recently have i started to rev my engine to such high rpm. previously i seldom go above 8k. does the bike makes such vibrations at high rpm in general or is it with just my bike. some one please post some opinions.my bike is 14 months old and has done only 7k kms. i never went above 110 ever. is it time for me to thrash my bike to the 140s. the vibrations are making me nervous.superbikes are the biggest blunders on indian roads.

Finally.
It's been a year and a half, that I wanted a bike, and I've applied for my licence.
Finally, somehow I convinced my parents for a bike.
I was seriously confused the ZMA, P220 and the R15. I was more towards R15 as it was my first sight first love. Though, P220 is cheaper and faster...I somehow, after asking on Xbhp forums, and people, decided to go for the R15. Yesterday, I bought my bike.....it was FUN-tastic. It had done 5 kms, and I did some 100 odd kms in 3 hours, keeping it below 5000 RPM and just touched the powerband 4 times till now (8000-10000 RPM). NOW, when I am fully satisfied with the bike, it has clocked 180 kms. I want to ask the basics in this RUN-IN period, as I am keeping my control over wringing the throttle. PLEASE also tell the speed limit, or the RPM, till which I can ride the bike, and the RUN IN essentials too.
Thanks, I've finally joined the R15 club with my black racing coloured R15.

Congrats on the new&1st bike! The feeling is ecstatic! My 1st bike was a 2nd hand Kinetic Honda. Yours is an R15!Originally posted by sahajsharma View PostIt's been a year and a half, that I wanted a bike, and I've applied for my licence.

Anyways, the run-in procedure is written in the manual-avoid prolonged usage above 5000RPM for the 1st 500kms.&then 7.5K RPM for the next 500kms. This doesn't mean that you are never supposed to visit the higher RPMs. Rev the engine freely through the gears&let it cool every hour or so. You should be good to go.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

^Cool! Amazing! Thats a gull swingarm na? And the RS has a wheelbase of 1345mm, compared to 1290 of the R15/Vixion (its the same I guess...) So is the swingarm any longer than stock?
& Being aluminium, it must be lighter! You get the point?? :D

Yeah its longer, lighter and a lot wider, so next update will be 150/60 Bridgestone on the rear. It does need a lot modification to make it fit, I am already waiting for 10 days, but I hope finished in 2 more days.Originally posted by svjhonda View Post^Cool! Amazing! Thats a gull swingarm na? First of all, congrats on owning an awesome piece of machinery. All doubts of choosing this bike among the pack of indian performance bikes evaporates once we start riding it..Originally posted by sahajsharma View Postwhen I was driving, a guy with a black r15 came and smiled......I asked him that what should I do with the run in thing...he said that do not cross 50 kmph....so i did not cross it.....so what is your say on this?

For your run in, as sarvajit anna pointed out, keep it under 5000 rpm for the first 500 kms, occasionally you can take it to higher revs though. From 500-1000 kms on the odo, keep it under 7000 rpm. In 6th gear you'll be doing around 80 if I'm not wrong. Then first free service (<1000kms!).

yeah TNT is right.. I am following the same running-in instruction... I am trying to keep her under 4000 rpm for initial few hundred's Km. I just love the kind of attention that it gets from people around.. definitely a head turner.. but most importantly... you will forget everything when you ride it.. Its a dream to ride.. can't resist to take her to three figure mark soon after it crosses 1000 Kms.Originally posted by TnT View PostFirst of all, congrats on owning an awesome piece of machinery. I remember the day I took it from showroom, there was this man of around 35's. He was saying me.. "congrats brother, you choose a good bike.. and very good color.. suits you in whole... I also recommended my nephew to go for R15 but he is insisting on ****** (dont wanna take names) I will urge him now to go for this bike".
I felt top of the world. By the way I choose Sunset Red. My first choice was always Midnight black but now I am knowing why people in US charge heavily on Red vehicle...

Get used to hearing some sounds on this bike:Originally posted by freakzil View PostI too hear some twaaaaaiiii.... sound from somewhere when engine starts... wonder what it may be.
1. The sound mentioned by you above-it is the fuel pump.
2. A whining sort of sound when parked in sun/some other random times-that is also from the fuel pump.
No need to worry about these 2.
3. Scratching sound from underneath-that is the chain which needs some attention in the form of lubing.
4. A faint humming sound-it is the radiator fan when engine is overheated. If occuring too often, check coolant level.
5. Ticking noise after engine is shut off-catalytic coverter trying to cool silencer. Again no need to worry about it.Quench my thirst with gasoline!
