Thanks Sarvajit.... am a relieved man... nothing from the chain yet but I think it must be the fuel pump... I will get used to it soonOriginally posted by Sarvajit View PostGet used to hearing some sounds on this bike:
1. The sound mentioned by you above-it is the fuel pump.
2. A whining sort of sound when parked in sun/some other random times-that is also from the fuel pump.
No need to worry about these 2.
3. Scratching sound from underneath-that is the chain which needs some attention in the form of lubing.
4. A faint humming sound-it is the radiator fan when engine is overheated. If occuring too often, check coolant level.
5. Ticking noise after engine is shut off-catalytic coverter trying to cool silencer. Again no need to worry about it.
but thanks for your brief post
Thank you and Yes! finally.. but had to settle for 'Sunset Red'.... and am loving the attention its getting in the road. Dont have the good pics yet.. but you can see few on my album. some needs to be approved by moderator. Cheerios to this thread.. that help me choose this machine.Originally posted by TnTBHAI you got your bike??? How in hell did I miss this?!?? Congratulations, its been a LONG time coming! Thanx Joe,..Job done,..just another question, does riding with the chain too tight or slack cause permanent damage to the chain or sprocket i rode my bike at lst 50 kms with the chain too tightOriginally posted by sk8er_joe View PostAlong with axle nut, u need to loosen the nut with which the rear disc is placed on the swing arm.. One more thing u need to keep the chain tensioner to a lower number.....
FYI, Any mechanic 'll be able to do it... Just tell him to loosen the second nut also...
JoeThere is a thin line between adventure and madness,...God must have made me myopic for a reason!!!

So you finally got one...Originally posted by freakzil View Postyeah TNT is right.. I am following the same running-in instruction... I am trying to keep her under 4000 rpm for initial few hundred's Km. I just love the kind of attention that it gets from people around.. definitely a head turner.. but most importantly... you will forget everything when you ride it.. Its a dream to ride.. can't resist to take her to three figure mark soon after it crosses 1000 Kms.
I remember the day I took it from showroom, there was this man of around 35's. He was saying me.. "congrats brother, you choose a good bike.. and very good color.. suits you in whole... I also recommended my nephew to go for R15 but he is insisting on ****** (dont wanna take names) I will urge him now to go for this bike".
I felt top of the world. By the way I choose Sunset Red. My first choice was always Midnight black but now I am knowing why people in US charge heavily on Red vehicle...
Congrats..you're going to love every bit of it..
Pics awaited..

Guys..Originally posted by Amrit View Postwhile riding, i hear a "squeek squeek" sound, i guess from the front tyre.
what maybe the cause.
Does it need any lubrication. My bike is just 530 km old.
thanks
This sound is not because of dust on the disc..
I had already written about this sound long back..
All the new R15s that I have seen, have got this problem..
Nothing to worry because the solution is very simple..
Go to the SVC and ask him to remove your front tyre axle and lubricate the rubber seal..
You'll never hear that "squeek squeek" again..

To be honest, i feel the front brakes in the 15 to be so soft and progressive. I still kind of like the snappy feel of the pulsars. Also the R15 am using is only for track daysOriginally posted by HydBiker View PostThe fluid hose in the R15 is so nicely routed and is secure. The braking is so well behaved and is spot on. Do you think the steel braided lines would show much benefit on the R15?

hi guys. I got R15 black 2 days back.
I liked the bike a lot.
I am facing a problem actually - When the bike is in the running condition, i find it difficult to come to neutral mode. whereas as soon as i switch off the engine getting into neutral is very easy. is it the way it was designed or am i not shifting properly? please shed some light upon this topic.
and btw i won 3001 rs. in the scratch card offer.

First of all, a big congratulations for the bike, you must be on cloud 9!Originally posted by raidenbeast View Posthi guys. I got R15 black 2 days back.

Secondly, its mentioned in the manual that the 'best' way to shift to neutral would be to shift to 1st gear and then nudge the gear lever up to neutral. 2nd to neutral is way easier when the bike is stationary.
Thirdly... ARGH! I 'won' only 1001 bucks...
Lucky bugga.

Thanks.
Every time i switch on/off my bike i always use the "engine kill" red switch.
So is it recommended to use this switch every time? Or should i keep it ( always on) & should only use the key to switch on/off the bike?
Does using the switch every time will have any effect in the long run.?Last edited by Amrit; 11-01-2009, 01:24 PM.

Why do you want Pulsar braided hoses? Why not go in for the Braking kit available with the performance kit? Even that has steel braided hoses, petal disc rotor and even revised brake master cylinderOriginally posted by GP_freak View PostTo be honest, i feel the front brakes in the 15 to be so soft and progressive. Is the pulsar 220 one cheaper?
