@all: I had a problem with vibrations creeping in around 6k rpm, digislayer suggested that I tighten the engine manifold nuts, and it has solved the problem. Thanks dude. The link to the photos showing which nuts are to be tightened has been added to the 1st post of this thread, if anyone needs it.

    • My engine trouble light was not working.. so the idiots of SVC said to me that they will change the meter.. so they opened everything.. front head... to side panels.. but in the end all it needed was a plug in.. one of the wires were not plugged in to the battery near the battery store place. Idiots! from that day, my front part i constantly get a rattling sound somewhere near the meter.. will have to go to the SVC soon... anyidea.. what it may be apart from loose screws...
The SVC out here is pathetic.. all they did was replaced the mobil and tightened my chain.. yes u heard it right.. not even lube it... and also they didn't even clean my air filter.. I hope Yamaha India Read this...

The rattling sound is probably coming from the dash board. I had also experienced the same problem. Check if it is properly pluged.

            Query about Monoshock

Friends i just wanted to enquire if any of you get a thud ! kind of sound whenever u r R15 goes in a Pothole or uneven road, coz i can't figure out what makes that unpleasant sound, is it the chain striking against something(mine is not loose got it double checked) or is it something wrong with the mono-shock?

Yea it started happening to me too recently, especially if the pothole is big n unexpected I don't know if its something wrong with the monoshock. Can some one please clarify.
I think it is the chain, because mine is a bit loose. Will get it tightened in my 3rd service this Saturday. Finished 5.8k kms till date, bought my darling in the end of August.

@velociraptor: thx, and you drool! (seeing that you're a ferocious n hungry carnivore from the jurassic period.. ) btw I'm a BIG fan of Kungfu panda!

              • its the seat,
the rubber which supports the frame, change it...or put small cut tubes(cheaper and easy method) and all noise will be gone....

Thanks mizbah, I wanted to look into the matter so I started opening everything on my own... and voila! I was right... the right side bolt of the radiator mounting is gone... and also one screw was loose where the head of the bike clamps in, the screw is in tough position, so just manage to tighten it with a hand and a sharp pin but will have to tighten it again at SVC. Idiots.. where is my bolt??? Yamaha's ASS (After Sales Service) is damn bad and pathetic...

Anyways it is a straight plug & play fit & boy anyone wishing to change the tyre to fatter one for looks/stability/whatever reason can safely go ahead & do so atleast with pirelli.
also had an oppurtunity to test an R15 with pirelli 140/70/17 but felt sluggish. It was an accident vehicle so might be the reason for sluggishness.
385 kms in last 4 days & it has been a wonderful experience.
