ask them to tune it and do ask them to clean the switchgear by applying air pressure(the jet which sprays air and is used to clean filters)

which part? So far so good, I've not found any on the underside, just some in the place where you remove the filler cap...
Even my friend's brand new bike has rust there... And I think its an all-India manufactured vehicle... The paint is patchy in these places...
You get the point?? :D

I found some at the neck of the tank, and a lot more in the area around it. Mine is from the 1st lot, which was supposedly imported.Originally posted by svjhonda View Post^

I donno about rain water seeping in, but my 5.5 year old Fiero F2 has no signs of fuel tank rust.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

^True. Paint isn't holding on for imported ones either... Mine is also from 1st lot...
But thankfully mine isn't showing signs of rusting anywhere except tank... I was thinking of removing stuff and manually spraying paint from a can onto rust prone areas (like the front stay..) once my bike does 1yr...You get the point?? :D

Hmm. I'll talk to the SVC Manager about quality, if it gets covered under warranty, nothing like it. If not, I'll touch it up with some black paint with a brush. But this is not the expected quality. I have not seen signs of rust anywhere on my 5.5 year old bike, except for the frame where battery acid spilled.Originally posted by svjhonda View Post^True. Other places where rusting is common in R15 is behind the speedo stay as you said, number plate clamps etc. A detailed search will reveal many more, I'm sure.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

@ svjhonda - thanks man, will get it for my bike.
Got the 9000 km servicing done at Orion on friday. Had specifically told them about vibes creeping in and to check the tappets. Guess they did check it this time. Bike felt good after the service. Switched to Motul 300v factory line 15w 50 4T as well. It costs a whopping 895 bucks in Blore now !

It will be replaced. My friend just got his tank replaced on a 7 month old bike, under warranty. Dont leave it under the hands of the SVC guys, they might try to spray paint it to cover it or something.
He haggled with the people, and first they were giving him a repaired tank sourced locally ( costs much lesser, and they get to keep a fresh tank). But then later, he confirmed the tank he was getting was a new one, by matching the serial no and manufacturing with the receipt of the order by the dealer.
Get it done correctly, and they will replace it. Also check the drain pipe for a kink or a bend, that will keep water from collecting.
Best of luck. Do update.
Also another info - A R15 caught fire a few days back, because the SVC people did not fit the black inner fairing on the radiator correctly, and it touched the exhaust and caught fire. Entire right side melted away. Company not ready to give warranty, the dealer has to take care of it and pay for it now.

@ Sarvajit - I have rust in my fuel tank. The paint job in the 15 looks like a cheap single coat(not in the tank) Also my engine head, casing, gearbox has chalked up. Its like a dense fungus forest all over the engine . We both will take it to yamaha via e mail. What you say.pm me

I don't have rust or paint issues anywhere else AFAIK. I'm going for service mostly this weekend, will get the vehicle stripped&inspect. If things don't work out inspite of what I stated above, we will surely take it up at a higher level.Originally posted by GP_freak View Post@ Sarvajit - I have rust in my fuel tank.
