190 only for lubing is dalylight robbery, unless they've used Yamalube dry type chain spray.. They charge 50-100 bucks usually, & use Motul Road Chain Spray..Originally posted by raidenbeast View Posti recently lubed my bike's chain. it cost me 190/-
which one is better? getting the motul cleaner and lube (costing around 1000/-) or lubing it at the service center.
I would recommend doing atleast the lubing yourself if you have a center stand, or if you can seek help from someone to tilt the bike while you apply the chain spray.. Works out a lot cheaper, plus saves you lots of time.. The can costing approx 450 bucks, will last you for about 15-20 sessions of lubing..
Reg chain cleaning, I think its better to get it done at the SVC during the servicing(s).. I paid 50 bucks (labour charge) last time, & got the chain & both the sprockets cleaned (& re-fitted) royally..
EDIT: @velociraptor13: Awesome avatar pic..

My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Yes, motul chain lube is really good, it around 480/-, you can buy and use it at home after bike washing or after rain.Originally posted by raidenbeast View Posti recently lubed my bike's chain. it cost me 190/-

For chain cleaning, you can opt kerosine. it's better then Motul Chain Cleanner. with old toothbrush, kerosine and cotten cloth, you can clean chain better way. I do the same (My personal opinion)

Please shed some light on this issue guys..Originally posted by gaurav_c View PostAnyway..I have got this question about teflon coating since long and always got mixed opinions about it. Is teflon coating necessary? How exactly does it help? Is it worth enough? Does it help or ruin the paint in the long run?
Many told me that once done, the coating cannot be removed and it may ruin the paint if you try to. Also, the amount of visible scratches is same with or without the coating. And, also that it generally messes up during rains.
Please help me with some info on the whole 'teflon thingy'..

hey gaurav long time..Originally posted by gaurav_c View PostPlease shed some light on this issue guys..
dude i'd advise you to stick to wax. I'm using carnauba wax (used it twice till now) and no complaints.
I'm a bit apprehensive about teflon because it started flaking off on my last bike. Also some dullness crept in some places and I couldn't get it off no matter how hard I tried.

Its not that simple buddy. I went to Venkatesha Spares&he showed me that there is a rubber pipe with metal grooves inside it. This goes in all the way from the headlamp cowl, through the back of the visor&till the speedo flap. The rubber screws go in on top of this. So, the screws cost about Rs.15-20 each, whereas this rubber pipe is the expensive one at Rs.80 each. I got the pipes, have ordered for the screws too, will get those in about 10 days.Originally posted by chiku181 View PostWell the washer is there to protect the plastic na???
The SC guys told me to use pulsar's screw with rubber washers as the plastic ones are unavailable...they said that it won't cause any harm n will fit perfectly....
The lower two screws on either side fits well into the hole along with the rubber washers but for the upper two holes you have to use a slightly thinner washer since the length of the screws after fitting the washer is too short to fit properly....Quench my thirst with gasoline!
