I have seen a similar thing. That guy had cut the seat from the middle and it became split seat.

    • Guys.. I am kumar and this my first post in this thread. I have been reading this thread and gained much knowledge about R15 and bikes. Thanks to all of you.

I have a problem with my tire pressure for every two days the rear tyre pressure comes down to 6-10 ps. I checked with SC guys and they are telling it could be a RIM problem. But no certain answer that RIM is a problem. So I am worried,

Any info so I could get it checked?

      Thanks in advance...

check thoroughly for punctures.... check if you have a nail or glass or something lying in... if all else fails then it has to be a rim issue!

        • the last two weekends i did two rides , Yercaud , pondy and chennai..

Pondy and chennai was with my Gf as pillion.

Now the relationship with the bike has become a "Love Hate Relationship"

Cant live with it or cant live without it ..

Im so used to the Braking , the handling and suspension that my mind doesn digest riding on other bikes. The bike is so so forgiving , Iv never had that experience on any other bike.
where as when on the highway-- the loss in torque is what i hate it to the max..
No use of it capable of doin 100 kmph is xyz seconds when ur touring..all that matters oly on the track.

while coming back from pondy/chennai with pillion i was able to do 130 on speedo. But when im at 85 on 6th and open throttle....It takes light years to get to 100..
I was like y the hell did i ever give away my pulsar ??
or like when is the zma releasing??
Sometimes i feel like i just wanna get rid of this ,
and sometimes u get the feel that what technology u pay for is actually amazing , do 120 all day on a 150 cc and still u dont have the fear of over heating or seizure or anythin..

Just wanted to share my views on the r15 after a year of use and about 17k kms.

          • ^^^ even I have finished an year with my R15... same feelings initially and I believe I am now used to downshifting before accelerating - sometimes two cogs at a time.

            • hey dude.. i know you're new n all.. plz understand that the MODS know their job, they don't need ppl to tell them what to do, thats why they're there in the first place! And hydbiker is a senior member here.. hasn't posted in a long time, so chill.. I admit the sig is a bit jarring .. but don't just type whatever comes to your mind..

              peace.

                    • @santoosh: I agree, response is sluggish with pillions above 60kgs. Climbing slopes is a nightmare.
As you said, in the last one year, we have identified many concern areas, as well as things that bring a smile on our faces. But the moment you sit on another bike, you know the R15's superiority!

bang on. The R15 surprises me in every tide with its generous forgiving nature. I gotta tell you something here -

There's a route in Hyderabad (for those who know it - Dilsukhnagar bus stop to Uppal from inside Kothapet colony). One guy travels regularly in this route on various people's bikes and cars as a pillion. This road has a lot of speed breakers and many undulations. I dropped him twice or thrice on my R15 and he was complimenting my riding abilities with his uncle. He was telling that I ride so well that he felt as if they re-layed the road and all the bumps and pot holes vanished from that route.

When I heard it I laughed off and said that's the bike and not me!!!

                        • guys,..i am really upset about my second fall in less than 2 months, ..i am sure it is my riding limitation that is causing this and i also need to alter my riding style big time from my highly forgiving Enticer,...on the whole i am really upset and my biking self esteem has taken a real hit,..i am stuck to driving my Car to office now,..what a pain!!!

                          • @ ^ Ride safe dude. Thats the only thing that can help.

Well even i agree to the fact that R15 isnt good for hill live in Dehradun, and often travel to Mussoorie. Well, the bike goes up easily in 4th and 5th ( mostly 5th),but again the acceleration is less due to its reviving nature.

As a pillion, i found the R15 real uncomfortable for long rides and bumpy roads.

thanx man,..and yes very true,..the bike is very uncomfortable for a pillion,..if the pillion is anything more than a gorgeous chick not weighing more than 60 kilos ;-)

                              • The roads are equally bumpy to everyone, gorgeous or not.

I wonder if ugly chicks do not feel the bumps as much as gorgeous chicks. How did u come to that conclusion anyway?
