I suggested you to use only a single 60/55W bulb on the left h/l. Do not use any bulb on the right h/l as 60W + 35W on Hi beam will be a bit too much for the bike.

        prob description.

Engine rev smoothly no sluggish feeling none what so ever. but when im in 5th gear and 6th gear there is this weird kind of sound emerging from somewher close to the engine. cant be precise because the sound is prominent when bike is in motion.. very less and not very prominent when still.

It sounds as if 2 metal plates are rubbing against each other but its dis- continuous..

i couldnt goto the SVC as i was busy and its pretty far from wher i stay. i thought of getting tips from you so posted here..

        Thanks.

well cant think of anything else other than loose engine mountings. just go to svc and take a mech along for a ride. may be he will point out the problem.

            • Had a small fall this morning at Nandi Hills. Riding gear from head to toe saved me from injury.

As is customary, as soon as the bike fell flat on the road, the ignition got cut-off. I had tanked up on fuel this morning & the bike must have consumed about 2 litres when I had the fall.
I saw fuel trickling out of the tank (The lid was closed, & locked properly), albeit only a few ml of it.

              My question here is:
              1. Has anyone who has had a fall earlier, experienced the fuel tirckle out from the fuel lid?
              2. Is it normal for fuel to trickle out (of any bike in general), or the knob is supposed to be air-tight?

              My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

I am 75Kgs myself I have successfully clocked 146kmph on the ODO. But I was fully crouched under the windscreen, was wearing riding gear and the road was absolutely straight with no traffic. It was a general descent but not too much of an angle. It was around 2pm in the afternoon and I guess the air density was the rarest. The bike reached 146kmph and got stuck on that number before beginning to lose speed.

I've had a small crash before. I wasnt riding though, my friend was. I was sitting pillion. He went into an uphill hair-pin bend in wet conditions in first gear and full throttle. The rear wheel spun out at full lean and we fell flat on the spot. He was probably doing 30kmph, so no major injury or damage to the bike. The engine cut off immediately. As far as I remember, there was no fuel leak as such
                D'oh!

Yes its normal. The lid is not air tight - it allows in air when fuel is consumed and the level decreases.

For many days, I was thinking what are those triple zeroes there for on the speedo. After careful scrutiny, found out that its actually ODO!

Now, tell what is this eyehole there for? Its there only on the left side, the right side does not have it and it bangs against steep speedbreakers. Just why did they have to put it there!

Tibby good to know you are all fine bro, I dont know yet about the fuel leak but yes I know this that it can trickle if the tank is full to the rim. One of my friend has had a fall and he experience that. Also he said that there is a hole on top which is the petrol overflow pipe, it drips from there also, when bike falls.

That hole is on both the side bro, check it carefully, its hidden behind the silencer as well. Its given for people who want to put a center stand on this machine, which was costing around 750rs , I dont know the current price, if it has dropped or something.

It does not look like its there on both sides. The right side has a single hole, maybe for the centerstand axle. But the left side has 2 holes, the bottom one is for the centerstand spring I guess then. And its already bent a little in my case!

That hole is for joining the tension spring that holds the center stand. Even i have hit a few speed breakers while having a pillion. But i guess this is better than the mono shock link directly taking the beating

In that way, I think its good. All these days I thought my mono shock link is gone from the occasional beating, was happy to see that eyehole getting bent instead.

Glad to heart that your are fine. Hope your new riding boots helped . Hey even i had a fall but i didn't see any fuel dripping out from the tank. only problem i noticed that she wasn't starting straight away, due to the engine cut off i believe. But the explanation that abhijeet080808 gave seems Convincing

                            • The petrol dripping from the fuel cap is normal during a fall when the fuel is topped up to max....I hav experienced it with other bikes also...it is not an air tight lid because air is needed to fill in the gap left due to consumption the fuel....The hole that we see when we open the lid is for the water to leave through a pipe when the bike is washed....

                                Agreed on both points.

I've had my bike's tank run dry once and I had to get fuel in a pepsi bottle. When I poured the fuel in, I did not use a funnel due to which some of the fuel did not go inside the main big hole where the bunk guys insert the fuel pump's nose, it went around it into the 6-7 smaller holes that you see around the big hole when you open the fuel cap. As a result I lost some fuel, I found that the two pipes coming out from the bottom of the bike are coming from those smaller holes only, they are to redirect any water that might seek in through the sides of the fuel cap into the fuel tank during rain/wash.

@ Tibby: Sorry about your crash bro

Be more careful from now on.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.
