  • Ok, this is my post in this thread after a quite long time ...

in next 2 months my bike will complete 3 years ... and i have ridden it every day in these 3 years [i use my bike rather my car to go office].

in these 3 years many bikes came and gone .. but in all these still i feel the value for money of this bike and its performance and fun u get out of it.

here are few below points for new owners of the bike

    1. don;t put metal keychain to ur bike keys or u will regret it when it chops off the paint on handle bar
    2. always keep the mirror in less tight ... so that if the bike falls it should close rather than breaking ur entire front fairing [not too lose ]
    3. always use fully synthetic oil for better smoothness [in showroom they use semi-synth oil ... no harm in using it also]
    4. always try to fill the tank full .. rather in small quantities [scientific evidence there to prove that full tank will always gives better mileage]
    5. frequently clean the air filter and spark plug also.
    6. Adjust ur headlight beam little low .. and try to avoid putting high beam apart from riding in highway and rain [save the ppl coming from opp direction]

although above points are tiny but important .. as ur not commuter but responsible riders ... thanks...

below is some facts to underdog points ...

Trust me i have cruised @125kmph continuously non-stop for more than 3 hours .. she won;t complain

avoid sand and mud .. on contrary i found opposite way with other bikes

    7. Now that i have gotten used to the posture, i can say its good for touring as well.

yes .. i have done many long rides .. never felt .. wrist pain or back pain

    8. I would love to take it to a track, do take it to Solan - Shimla highway pretty often, closest thing to a track in nearby routes (theres a very good 6-7 km patch near kaithilighat ). I am not sure whether its complete potential can be realized outside of the track.

i have taken her to MMRC track more than 9 times .. Oh..boy ..its niravana on track .. if u have not ridden her on track at least once in her life time .. then ur making great injustice to her

    10. I am getting 37 - 38 Kmpl, anyhow (rip, slice, cut, stack whatever).

i'll get 32-33kmpl milage .. no matter how slow or fast i ride

This one was the best tip and it makes sense as well because it will save the front dome of the bike.

In any case only the mirror stems can break, the fairing will not. Mirrors are fixed to the front sub-frame directly.

i'll get 32-33kmpl milage .. no matter how slow or fast i ride
        Same for me too!

                • Hello,

I own Yamaha SZ R bike, my question here to all R15 owner is, can I fit R15 stock tires to my SZ R?

SZ R tire size as given on Yamaha India Website:
                  Front Tire: 2.75- 17 41P
                  Rear Tire: 100/90-17 55P

R15 Tire size as given on Yamaha India Website:
                  Front Tire: 80/90-17
                  Rear Tire: 100/80-17

I am sorry for this but the numbers given in tire specification, I dont know how to read them. Also there is a guy who fitted R15 tires to SZ R, I would like to have you all opinion.

                  Is it possible?

                  Cheers!

                      • Hey friends yesterday night i cam across a issue where i found my bike engine was getting off as i am shifting bike in 1st gear and slowing the bike, the clutch was fully pressed throttle was kept on idle rpm but still the bike engine goes off.

Wondering what can be the reason?

If it goes off with a jerk then it might be a loose clutch.

If the raise just dies, then you'll have to check the idle RPM. If its below 1200, try raising it a bit.

If raising idle RPM does not work, then check the spark plug. If it looks quite burnt and dry, then clean, reinstall and test again.

If this fails, then you'll have to get the fuel pipes and fuel pump checked for cracks/blockage at the SVC.

                            • Le r15

Hi Guys, I am looking for LE R15 (White and Red) but many dealers in Bangalore say it is no more produced.
MSP Moto World on Ring Road in BSK 3rd Stage promises to get it done at additional expense of Rs.8k. Is there anyone out here who got the LE made by MSP? Is it finished exactly as the original LEs, especially the white paint? Is there any difference?

I think what they will do is take any R15 in their showroom open up all its tank,fairings/panels, whatever and then replace it with the tank, fairings/panels of the LE R15 as the fairings and all would still be manufactured and pack the opened up panels and tank as they are still new and can be sold without any problems , but this is what I think, maybe they might paint it or so I don't know..
