There's no need for any cleaning of the cylinder head. Just let it be.

    1. Great handler. Not as flickable as RTR but better on corners.
    2. Tires make me feel very confident , so do the brakes.
    3. Havent gone beyond 5k rpm, in sixth gear it does 72kmph at 5k rpm it feels like i am driving at a lot slower speed.
    4. Its big, parking it is a problem. RVMs keep hitting something or the other
5.My front tyre is making a slight rustling noise when the engine is off, is this ok ?.
    6. At 65-70kmph the fairing makes some whistling noise due to wind, is this ok ?

    7. The gear shift isnt very smooth. No trouble as such but isnt very smooth.
    8. I felt that the turning radius is greater than expected.
    9. It does turn heads, looks stunning.
    10. Also, is there a way to keep both lights on at low beam , without doing too much of a modification to electricals ?? 2 lights give a lot better spread.
    11. The rear brake lacks sting, i seldom use it. Also , rear brake is set at an awkward position.

I would appreciate if my friends here could help me a little with the hows and whys .
    2. Excellent on tarmac, concrete and on-road in general. On sand be ready to slide everywhere But you can still go off-roading with the bike.
    10. I dont understand why cant you run it in high beams. What difference does it make? None really.
    11. That's how the rear brake is. It lacks bite. Press it hard and it locks the wheel. In terms of braking it works just fine. Need more braking, press down on the pegs as you brake.

      1-4, & 8-9 are facts. So I won't comment on those.

      5. What do you mean by rustling noise. Can you elaborate?
      6. The fairing doen't make any noise. I think its your helmet thats causing the sound!
      7. If it is just 'not very smooth' then its ok. If its hard, get it fixed at the SVC. An insufficiently lubed chain makes gearhsits hard (but is not the only reason).
      10. You can do so by just attaching a wire to both the bulbs' electricals. Search this thread for detailed steps.

Thank you kwokfist and tibby for your replies.

@tibby by rustling noise i meant something constanly brushing agains the disc i suppose, dont see anything though, and the front wheel shouldnt be making any noise i guess. and am pretty sure the fairing is making that slight whisling noise, cause i have been using the same helmet for 3 years now , never heard that sound at any speed before.

@kwokfist , i wish i could use them with low beam, i have a thing for traffic rules, just dont like to break them

I will ask again. What difference will it make running both at low beam? The angle they project the light will remain the same. Adjust the height on both headlights so it doesn't hurt anyone's eyes if that's what you are worried about.

                happy to help.

The rustling noise seems like brake pads rubbing against the disc. Since the bike is new (100 Kms na?), take it to the SVC (of the showroom you bought the bike from) & get it fixed. Don't pay them a dime for it.

Whistling noise from fairing is weird. I'm pretty sure its the helmet. Try wearing a different make helmet & ride to check.
I understand you've been wearing the same helmet for 3 yrs, but the air flow on the R15 is different (owing to the fairings). That could be causing the whistling sound using the same old helmet.

                My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

                  • Hi, wanted to ask a few more questions to fellow R15-ers.

Can we fit after-market horn on the R15? Just a single horn which sounds better than the stock one. I fear the radiator may develop a leak.

Also, is there any real chance of radiator fins getting bent, as it is unprotected?

                    Thanks in advance!

                    • ^ fins getting bent, not really ( not even like the ninja 250R, where high pressure wash is not recommended directly on the fins ). But yes my friends have fitter high power horns, towards the lower side of the cowling albeit though with a relay. That should work.

Can you suggest any mounting point? Surely, we can not mount it on the plastic fairing!

Also, how do we view the coolant level on this bike? I could not find anything in the manual!!

                        • ^^ ill get back on that ( check with my friend ).

The coolant level can be checked from behind the black side panel. ( which has deltabox written on it )

Thinking of it as it aids visibility and thin ones somewhat appeal me like these--

I've mounted my roots horn on the bolt under the radiator on the left hand side. The stock-horn was mounted on the radiator-mount on my 09 bike. I've been running my HID ballast at that point for the past 15 months. No issues.
