    • @jd666 - Thanks. I may use the bolt KwokFist mentions.

Ok, you mean there is a bolt there seperate from the raditor? If yes, great!

About the HID, are you using dual HID on low beam? I am going the HID way soon, and am confused if dual beams will be supported in traffic?

(But I plan to save 15W - remove the 2 pilots, use LEDs for tail light.)

See the pic I've attached to get an idea where to mount the horn.

Why do you guys want to get both beams working in low beam. It makes no difference. Set your high beam at a lower angle if the higher angle of the beam is what your worried about.

My HID is wired to work with the stock switch settings.

What is your set-up like? Single HID on low beam?

I am planning for a more elaborate set-up with projectors. Glare to traffic will not be an issue, hence I can safely light up both the HIDs in low beam, provided the battery holds out. Hence my question.

And, many thanks for the pic. I will get the horn change done shortly.

Single HID on low. Double on High.

Over a year ago the battery did hold up for a few hours on both beams. But now it's about 30 mins at max, sometimes even lesser. My battery is 3.5A maybe the 5A battery will take the load. I'm looking at a battery upgrade myself.

@hardcorebiker: R15 doesnt have dandruff. Normal shampoo will suffice

Lol...thanks will wash it with a normal shampoo

and any precautions to be taken while washing?

Like I know one is that you have to covr the exhaust

What if the water enters the underseat area as i keep it open while washing

                  • greeting to all xbhpians

After doing a lot of research on all the previous posts i realised how dumb i was to think that pulsar was the man! i dint get a chance to realise how incomparable R15 is with respect to other Indian bikes which pose like studs! i dint bother to know much about R15 when my dad said it was time that i got a nice ride there were 2 reasons for me to do so... first was the cost factor the next one was. i was in a illusion that rear tire is small and bike is no good! thats totally dumb i know!!

Then i started going through First Experiences of R15 and then moved on to reading owner ship experiences!! which left me with no choice but to feel the THRILL and PURE PLEASURE myself As everyone said it did feel bit uncomfy! hope it gets bttr soon

Im getting my R15 Blue home on wednesday It'd be of great help to me if anyone explains to me the minor things(which may go un noticed) that i need to check before taking my bike home

And since the bike need frequent cleaning and maintainance , like lubing . i was wondering if i should go for the racing stand available with yamaha or the usually used RX100 stand wil do justice?

and kindly recommend me the service stuffs to buy initially , like chain spray and stuff

Hoping for very good advices from all of you here

                    Regards

                      1. Try not to get wet yourself, you might catch a cold!

                      2. Absolutely unnecessary. There's a drain hole under the exhaust which lets the water out. Who tells you all these precautions?

                      3. You risk more by removing the seat while washing the bike than keeping your exhaust uncovered. Try not to get the battery, ECU and other electricals under-seat, wet while washing. You can clean the under-seat area post washing with a cloth.

I did an unintentional stoppie at a red light yesterday. A car jumped the lights and crossed my way suddenly , i braked hard and up went the rear wheel, luckily no one was close on my tail , no injuries , just few choice words exchanged :P

Ok, so dual HIDs will be risky I think. Also, I guess you had tail/pilot lights as stock? So, removing them may help me a bit.

                            A 5Ah battery should help.

I have a HID single beam only on the HighBeam. The Low beam is Halogen-stock. This will more than suffice your requirement once you have the throw adjusted, depending you ride more with Pillion or without!
Majority of the guys keep the ballast near the Horn mounting as Kwokfist pointed out. Since I didn't have the bolt, I have my ballast behind/underneath the speedometer. Double Taped it there. Secured.
A Single HID should suffice! You can try! If you're planning to go for projector set up, well then nothing like it
I too want to get the 5A battery. Somebody pointed out here a few pages back that an Amaron 5A has a direct fit!

The stock low beam is absolutely worthless for me. Before this my earlier bike has 100/90W bulb, maybe thats why. Let me see how this bike holds up, 1 HID may be sufficient.

Direct fit, means drop in replacement in the same cavity? If yes, great. When I have to replace the battery, I will go for it then.
