No such problems man-I have it on my bike since more than 2 years/20K kms.&it never rubbed the corners, even when I scraped my footpeg.
In fact, it serves as a protection to the mono suspension link, since the stand is the 1st thing to hit speedbreakers if you are going too fast with a pillion etc. Normally even that does not happen.

Anyway, @All: Any other suggestions for the leakage?

My bike for sometime now has been making a high pitched screeching noise when i go over 40-50 km/hr , with the noise clearly from the front wheel. I have had it checked with the SVC .

First time they said it was the brake disk , so they cleaned up the disk and that checked nothing was rubbing the disk, the bike went through 40 km before the noise reappeared.
Second time when i got it checked , they said there was a lot of mud and slush ( the roads were indeed muddy and slushy after the rains) so they cleaned , lubricated the front wheel hub( or at-least that's what they told me), once again it ran well for a few kilometers before it started to scream again but this time the noise is so apparent that the bikers who pass by are asking me about the noise !
Finally 10days ago i took it again to the SVC and this time they say it must surely be the Speedometer sensor that's causing the noise as they have checked everything else but still they need to make sure by bolting on a new sensor on my bike to test their theory ! Its been more than a few weeks but there is no sign of the new sensor to test !
My question is that could it really be the sensor or are the guys in SVC taking me for a ride ?
ps: the bike( sep 09 model) has run just 3050km in and is still in warranty!

Advice needed: Tonight while coming back to my room, all of a sudden some pedestrian decided to cross the road, though I was flashing the light n honking as well. But the tech crazy guy had iPod in his damn ears. Well I had to brake quite hard resulting the rear tyre got locked. All was saved he ran unscratched and so did I. But after that, when i started moving ahead, i felt uncomfortable handling the bike. In high speeds i.e. 80+kmph the bike was doing perfect, but in slow speed i.e. -40kmph, i felt as if bike is moving more to one side than other. The handling became quite bad. Any reasons buddies.

I don't think the wobbly feeling will haunt you the next day. See if it crops up again. Generally my bike too behaves in a weird way if someone else rides it (very R-A-R-E) and its abused over bad roads, but the next day its back to being good. Err, they have soul.

Brings me to my braking issues, I am continuing with the counterfeit front disc pads which lock up w/o any warning resulting in a front wash-out. But due to lack of time & my desired SVC some 100 odd kms away(one way) over bad roads is making me wait. Approx a month more and shall get it changed.

Yeah I know it shouldnt, but it did. and the road was also a bit bumpy. I am seriously hoping the same, that tomorrow morning its all healthy and fresh. But will check it for sure. Yes they do have a SOUL

Yes, I have kept a newspaper underneath today as advised by you. Let's see if something is there on it by evening!

There can be 3 reasons for this:
1. If you were running on a full tank of fuel that is common, due to the fuel moving around with force.
2. Else, your forks have dived in too much when you braked very hard. You will feel it for sometime.
Try compressing the forks a few times with the front brake lever pressed. This will restore fork oil supply.
3. Handle (steering stem nut) needs adjustment after the hard braking. Check for free play of the handle by putting on mainstand if you have one. If it is falling freely to one side&feels restricted on the other, then it needs adjustment.
If the issue persists, you might have to get the forks opened up&oil level&supply checked, though I think it is not necessary now.

Yes that can be the reason, though I did it while coming back. But it seems not to have worked.

I checked that after messaging you about the newspaper. The handle seems to be perfectly fine, as it is moving freely and there is no obstruction in it. But what I found out that my front wheel is not moving freely. like it seems the disc is rubbing more to the pads in one area. Is there any chance of disc plate getting bend in heavy braking??????

I will keep that in mind, though I would be again ridinig around 600kms this weekend. So even there i have a good mechanic will get it checked out there

No, the disc plate cannot get bent that easily. But yes, maybe the pads might have got pressed to the disc due to the heavy braking.
Pump them a few times while riding&see!

@ Sarvajit bro, my bike was also showing signs of coolant leakage when I brought it home after the last service. I'd wake up in the morning to find 3-4 drops of coolant beneath her, and this continued for about a week. I went to the service center about this issue. The service manager had the following reply "Sir, there is no leakage, since we have filled coolant to the top and you park the bike on the side stand, some drops of the coolant comes out of the coolant tank and those drops are the ones you find in the morning".

I didn't believe him, I thought that a pepsi bottle does not leak pepsi if it was filled to the brim and then left in a slanting position(side stand effect=slanting position).

But today my doubts about this were cleared. If anyone has poured coolant in his bike himself, he'd know that the cap(dhakkan) of the coolant tank is a rubber thingy which doesn't closes the mouth of the tank very tightly. So there is a big possibility that coolant may seep through if the tank is filled to the brim, and the bike is left in a slanting position for a long period of time.

Today I had my bike's 5th service, during which I had the burning kit installed which means new set of fairings

Another reason for me being happy is that I did the whole service myself under supervision of my mechanic, i.e. engine oil change, chain tightening, air filter cleaning. All very basic stuff but one has to start somewhere eh..

I also had the steering greased which took a LOT of time. This the mechanic did himself as he said that it was expert stuff and that he'd teach me the next time my bike needs her steering greased.

Also, 1 thing I'd like to ask, how many kms do the brake pads last? I've done 8k kms and the mechanic told me that I'd have to change them in the next service. Is 10k the max life of these brake pads? I ride very sedately, and high speed runs are very scarce, so I don't need to brake that often, neither do I do stoppies...confused...

@Parth Regarding brake pads you can check if there's some juice left in it or not by engaging the front brake lever and if it feels spongy i.e braking occurs after a certain amount of pull then u can judge how good/bad they are.

Does changing into prejector lights void the warranty?????? And how much does the whole set up( HID + projector costs)????

There might be a few alternatives but I don't think they will provide the level of performance that the stock ones provide. If I remember correctly sheelpriye has been using one. Look back a few posts for his experience...

Is anyone facing engine oil leakage issue from the exhaust manifold?? Recently I noticed traces of engine oil around the exhaust manifold. On inspection found that the screw holding the exhaust in place was a bit loose. So I tightened the screw and cleaned the area near the manifold. After 15-20 days this is what I found:

Seems like tightening the screws didn't solve the problem...
I'm running on motul FS for the past 3.5K kms and this problem cropped up only after using Motul FS oil. Previously I was using Motul SS and there wasn't any issue with it...
Is any one else facing such issues with Motul FS??? or is it only me??
