    • Radiator Fan not working

      Hi guyz,

I got my new r15 three days back, and on the second day in heavy traffic, the red light at the right corner in the odometer came on. I switched off the engine and after 5 min. switched it on and it was fine. So it was the engine getting overheated, same thing happened again today, when in traffic. I took it back to the showroom guyz and they checked the coolant level it was fine, turned out the fan was not working. They were unable to figure out why and required me to leave the bike over nite for them to fix it. Are they not supposed to check the same before giving out the bike!!!

Does anybody know what the problem could be and i have completed 156km on the bike, is there any serious concerns here, having ridden the bike without the fan working?

If the radiator fan is dead, they will have to change it, that's what it is going to happen, remember don't pay for it. You bike is under warranty, they will try to charge for it, but you will have to argue for the same.

        • It could also be a faulty radiator fan relay. Have it checked and replaced if necessary. And get the radiator fan replaced if found to be faulty under warranty. Find out if the radiator replacement drive is in place and if anything in that regard can be done with your bike if applicable, all this under warranty ofcourse.

          • Question: I have recently found i am filling air in wheels every 2 days. Looks like my mags have a light dent on the upper end due to which the air is leaking. I am not interested in fixing it, Can i install tube and is there any adverse effect ?

Yes they did replace the fan relay, still it was not working. Will check if they have replaced the fan or what other action they have taken when i go down tomorrow.

60/55W will not work properly i mean they will glow but consume more battery wether u have cutout or not. r15 rectifier is design to handel 35w easyly. cutout just help to suply continous power required by bulb. you may have to switch to 5amp battery or have to recharge your stock battery after short spam of time

If your using the 55w as low beam and the other bulb for high...i.e not using both the bulbs at the same time....then no issues, your battery wont drain.

                              • Need Suggestions From all R15 owners

                                M a newbie here..
M currently having a TVS Apache 150 which is almost 5 years old and since it was my first bike so it is some what damaged due to accidents (front disc brake misuse).
My current crush is on R15. Awesome bike but m confused whether to go for it or stick with my old bike? (no financial problem)

Also whether its worth waiting for new R15 2011 or not?
