Is anyone facing engine oil leakage issue from the exhaust manifold?? Recently I noticed traces of engine oil around the exhaust manifold. On inspection found that the screw holding the exhaust in place was a bit loose. So I tightened the screw and cleaned the area near the manifold. After 15-20 days this is what I found:

Seems like tightening the screws didn't solve the problem...
I'm running on motul FS for the past 3.5K kms and this problem cropped up only after using Motul FS oil. Previously I was using Motul SS and there wasn't any issue with it...
Is any one else facing such issues with Motul FS??? or is it only me??

      • Is that grime on the block? Have you checked for leaks from the head?

It must be the speedo sensor only-try swapping it&check!
Get the bike pressure washed before that though&during rainy season, spray some water onto the disc area also after riding in waterlogged/muddy areas.

I'd wake up in the morning to find 3-4 drops of coolant beneath her, and this continued for about a week. I went to the service center about this issue. The service manager had the following reply "Sir, there is no leakage, since we have filled coolant to the top and you park the bike on the side stand, some drops of the coolant comes out of the coolant tank and those drops are the ones you find in the morning".

I didn't believe him, I thought that a pepsi bottle does not leak pepsi if it was filled to the brim and then left in a slanting position(side stand effect=slanting position).

But today my doubts about this were cleared. If anyone has poured coolant in his bike himself, he'd know that the cap(dhakkan) of the coolant tank is a rubber thingy which doesn't closes the mouth of the tank very tightly. So there is a big possibility that coolant may seep through if the tank is filled to the brim, and the bike is left in a slanting position for a long period of time.

Hope this answers your queries bro.
If you remember, I have stated that my bike is always parked on mainstand-that is what is baffling me!

          • Hi Guys,

Its been a week passed with my R15.
In Run in period i am riding it in limit and not taking high pickup out of it.

i know it doesn't matter much on a performance bike; but i was checking on mileage since i bought it. I was expecting 35-40 KM/lt; But surprisingly i got 50 KM/lt exact 3 times, and last time i got 45 Km/lt.

Is any one else out there getting the same mileage?
Will it be same after 1st service or will it be reduced due to high speed rides after run-in period over?

                • Please go in for OF disc pads.

I have been forced to use a counterfeit because of non availability and no, nor is it cheaper and becomes absolutely dangerous to use them. I am having front wash-outs almost every alternate day, but yet to crash.

Too tied up to get them changed

                    • May be the tyre needs a change man! or is it the RIMs!
Both of them are a risk!

To answer blindly - Yes you can!

yes. you won't face any issues whatsoever.
as long as your tyres are in good shape.

Yes, Rim has some issue on the upper end, it looks like the tyre repairman made a mistake while installing the new tyre a month back. My tyres are just a month old, so i think now it's time to call the tube in.

                          Thanks for your suggestion guys...

                          • If thats the problem, then head to a wheel alignment guy who could fix it on a machine and that should do the trick!
Edit: If by issue you meant damage then its better to get it replaced under insurance. Never take a risk with riding with a damaged rim

No, nothing's broken, it's a bit of bent, that is causing the air leak. I think i will take your suggestion route first, and than go for the tube, if it doesn't work.

Advice needed: Tonight while coming back to my room, all of a sudden some pedestrian decided to cross the road, though I was flashing the light n honking as well. But the tech crazy guy had iPod in his damn ears. Well I had to brake quite hard resulting the rear tyre got locked. All was saved he ran unscratched and so did I. But after that, when i started moving ahead, i felt uncomfortable handling the bike. In high speeds i.e. 80+kmph the bike was doing perfect, but in slow speed i.e. -40kmph, i felt as if bike is moving more to one side than other. The handling became quite bad. Any reasons buddies.

yes my chain is loose i know it, but I havent got this problem coz of it ever.

                                Kindly ADVICE
                                Dont worry, nothing's wrong!

It's just that clearances get messed up when there's sudden change in forces. Also, the rear tire looses its surface at one spot, making the "tire's circle" imbalanced, when it gets locked and rubs against the tar. It takes a little while for the rear tire to even out again, and the clearances to get reset again. It's normal, keep riding it the way you do, and things will get reset in a while.
                                Sunny.
