Based on the conv i had with some bajaj official from chennai the stock for that SS oil is yet to arrive in bangalore.Originally posted by jd666 View Post^^ you can use it, but bajaj is already providing semi synthetic oil for the 200 + cc bikes that they have ( P200, avenger, P220 and same goes in ninja as well )
And that guy told its FS and the pbk guy here told its SS. So both are conflicting each other
Is that FS a 10W40? The Yamalube SS is 15W50.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostWhat about the new Yamalube 10w40 fully synthetic at some ~630Rs.a litre? Anyone used it yet&how long does it last? I'm planning to try it at my next service i.e., 1200kms.from now,18K on the odo.
I guess for the same price agip FS is also available. How good is that one?
And how is it different/better than the Motul FS available for some 900+ a litre?Last edited by harshit.d; 06-15-2010, 01:51 PM.My thoughts...

What I have heard is its called some 10,000 coz they claim it can be used for 10K kms.!Originally posted by harshit.d View PostBased on the conv i had with some bajaj official from chennai the stock for that SS oil is yet to arrive in bangalore.

I never heard of even a FS oil lasting that long, leave alone SS! But I think it should be good for Bajaj bikes. The next best bet is Motul, it suits most Bajaj bikes well, but some have gasket/oil seal leaks due to that one.
I have been using the SS 15w50 since 1.5 years on my R15. It is very good, have used it for max 4.5K kms.with touring+commuting. Is that FS a 10W40? The Yamalube SS is 15W50.

Never tried AGIP or others. Eager to try out the FS version though.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Guys,
Can i use the Aerosol (Can paints) to touch up the scratcehs of my Bike?
Any idea where i can get eh Colour for R15 Red?
Does it look good ? has anyone tried it ?
Please comment on the above Questions
@Penno: Stick to the Rpm range mentioned. Don't over do the Engine as it's Fresh, once u cross the 1000 Kms u can rip it, wait until then. Vary the riding speed (Under the RPM range). It wil make your engine Seasoned. Enjoy Riding..sigpic

yes i guess they are trying to make customers happy at least on papers!! For the mineral oil the guy told as 5k km as the drain period!! I was simply laughing hearing that.!Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostWhat I have heard is its called some 10,000 coz they claim it can be used for 10K kms.!

So this 15W50 will be good right? Motul also has the same rating.Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostI have been using the SS 15w50 since 1.5 years on my R15. It is very good, have used it for max 4.5K kms.with touring+commuting.

But confused with just one point. The rating on the Yamaha lube pack was SAE 15W50 API Service, JASO T
and in the manual it says API certified (which yamahalube is) or JASO MA.
So wanted to confirm about that once.My thoughts...

Sheel is a poser wants looks more than practical useOriginally posted by darkknight View Postsheel :here's how the setup looks.only now instead of a tail bag ,my laptop's bag is seen.
will take a pic with tail bag & than upload.but chances of that happening are not sooner hence attaching this pic.
Very similar setup except that I use a colt.
PS: DK get the tail bag straps changed if you have collected it... get stronger elastic (or bungee) with hooks on both sides.Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

huge tail bag with elastic straps--bad bad idea.the normal ones would have sufficed just fine.
will get them changed once i am back.till than have some workaround for them

Help Me
Hi friends, my friend crashed my bike before a month and i need to replace the side panels, front headlight cover, and the engine cover(the one with "YAMAHA" written over it). I gave order before a month and paid the full amount at the showroom. They promised to get me within a maximum time of 10 days. But now its been more than a month and no response from them even though i visit the showroom every 3-4 days. After waiting for this many days, i am very frustated that now i am thinking to sell off the bike. mine is the old blazing red colour
But, i want to complain to Yamaha officials regarding this matter. Is there a way that i can get to contact them through email or phone? Please help me. All these thing are making me hate Yamaha !!
NO YAMAHA !!!

try [email protected]
i also faced similar problems after ordering for a new air filter cap. first of all you should have contacted the spares section of the svc instead of the showroom. there you have the provision of booking the components by paying a small amount. you could have also given an emergency order if you want the product immediately. the product will then be couriered to the svc from where you can collect it. this is what i have learned from my experience with ordering products from yamaha.
the reason why you want to sell the bike may be becuase you and your friends might have nailed the bike.i have never given my bike to any body else for a test ride or so. my bike is like my girl friend and i dont like it to be touched by any one else. the result- i have never replaced any plastic component of my bike in the past two years(except the air filter cap). there is not even a scratch on it. the engine is in peak condition and i can proudly say yes yamaha.it is with my parents hard earned money that i bought this bike and i know how much hard they work to earn for me and my sister and hence i never take chances with my bike. you respect her and she respects you back.i just told you my opinion. no offence meant. like the cheetah underneath my name, my baby is tirelessly sprinting along and i never forget to feed her well.Last edited by akhilmuraleedhar; 06-16-2010, 08:09 AM.superbikes are the biggest blunders on indian roads.

thanks dude for the reply...even i never give my bike to anyone, but that day it was a small accident !!!
BTW, by ordering the parts in showroom,i mean it was the SVC itself. After ordering, i even spoke to the manager himself.

The manual for R15 says that the engine oil and the oil filter will be changed during the first service, which is due at 1000kms or one month (whichever comes earlier).Originally posted by Penno View PostGuys I've read on this forum that it is advised to change Oil for a new bike in 1st 100kms of run in ? Why is it so ? How does it help ?
It's not necessary to change the engine oil at 100kms. You can do it, but it would be pretty much useless unless you change the oil filter as well.
