        • Maintaining right air pressure,
          Periodic cleaning of Air filter,
Periodic cleaning and lubing and correcting slack of Chain,
Using good fuel and engine oil,
Swtiching gears on the right RPMs are some of the key differentiators for the varying mileage.

PS: The way you did your run in also matters...
@The person getting the lowest mileage.... can you confirm on when were the things in the list last done on your bike?

as soon as you will get the first svc done, you will start revving your bike and the fuel efficiency will drop...I m experiencing the same...

I dont understand why people are cribbing so much on the mileage figure.. If one is so much concern about getting 50+ or 60 or even 1 rs per liter mileage.. then why not buy a commuter, 100 cc even...
Mileage figure do depend on various reason.. the lowest i got was 32 and highest i have got till now is 55... and the top speed attended is 127kph.. Ironically, the bike gives better mileage when you rev it till 6.5K rpm and ride on highways than ride below 4k and on cities...

Bro i really really wish you could have had got something to share with me as a biker but to my demise there's none to my expectations, I hope you realise that R15 is a 150cc 17.3 ps Fuel Injected mill.
So when I say i got 33kmpl , i meant i tried and accomplised to clock 137kmph with red line shifting & on the contrary i regularly tried to shift at around 5 to 6.5k rpm but never ever got to see an average of at least 37-38 kmpl where as ppl who regularly shift at arount 9.5 k like our bhpian Digislayer but his bike still returns a healthy 36 to 44kmpl .
And do consider the polls which had been taken earlier(I was amongst the !st person in central India to have the honor of owning baby r1).
So my point over here is when one points out his avg in kmpl , a person like me literally means that there's something wrong with the engine, now let me explain you with some good example a buddy of mine over here has had some problem with his R15 and she gave him around 28kmpl then we realized that the his chain was very tight and thus the engine was not delivering the proper performance to the drive chain and hence the drop in the mileage.
But then there are ppl like you who always kinda judge a biker with his labels and sadly what bike he drives. for you it literally means that a guy with splendor is just yet another commuter and he has not even a clue what pwer, traction and compression ratio means.
But then I don't even feel sad about you coz what we actually are is the very first thing which reflects.

Bro with all due respect I was not intending to get more mileage if I ever would, I would have posted it last year or so. Every F@#$$ knows that this is pure performance personalized drug for everyone in its purest and Indian form, so don't judge a bhpian by just one post and plz be some more considerate before posting

                    • After first service I've been ripping my bike a bit, not redlining but I take her past the 7k mark when I'm in the mood sometimes.

Max Speed I attained was 130kmphr (speedo) on the NH8

and to my surprise I'm getting a fuel efficiency of 51kmpl. I'm amazed at this as before the first service, I kept her below 4k rpm and managed to get 43kmpl. I had the first service dont at 1029km and after it I've been giving small bursts once in a while and still getting 51kmpl.

I'm happy with this average....very happy

Ho ho ho! sorry for that dude... luckily your post was chosen for quick message reply... ripping at the red lines.. and wacking a top speed of 137kph... and u still think that something is wrong with ur bike.. even if its giving you 34kmpl.. Get real dude... BTW its not 17.3 ps its 17PS to be more precise
The mileage figure that you are getting for the kind of treatment that you do to your babe is respectable.. I am sure most xbhpians would agree on that... still I am saying you again.. 34kmpl on a bike that does 145kph... you are surely asking hell lot out of her!

I Get a Healthy 45+ in cities with civilized riding. Keeping her in between 4k-5k RPM in the city. Highway I get 50+ Definitely usually on Shell Super with 80-90kmph on 6th cog.
Your trip had a lot of uphill I assume? So maybe that figure. Keep the bike in the best condition possible. She will return you 40+. It varies from person to person actually. Everyone has a different way of riding at the end of the day.
