Expensive by Rs 11 than normal Petrol but I have always used it on touring and I get a 50+ kmpl. Haven't tried the Normal petrol so cant comment whether the FE I am getting is because of Shell or not. Keep her away from the Redline and below 7k RPM, she will fetch you a good FE , but thats a little hard sometimes!
    Well petrol matters a lot.
Firstly the quality of the fuel and secondly the honesty of the filling station. So all in all petrol is equally important when determining the FE. If these 2 are ok then petrol is out of question!

How does that help? I guess R15 also has a separate brake fluid cylinder for rear disc. So does that give any added advantage? or could u tell its importance.

    • from what i understand, it helps control the expansion of the brake fluid, and is a reservoir, as the pads wear thin. the racing reservoir over the std reservoir gives better control over the brake fluid expansion, thereby ensuring a progressive feel, even as the brake pads wear out. Other wise the brake will start feeling dead after sometime.

The expansion of the fluid can be well controlled by the steel braided hose. Correct me if i am wrong. I am just trying to understand the importance of the racing master cylinder which is an additional brake fluid reservoir. It's there in all the racing bikes and even in the performance kit by daytone but never could understand their importance or the need.

                    Directly?

you need to plug off everything connected to the battery.

anyways so from next on when i shall talk about any dynamics about R15, i must ask about my buddy bhpians weight it seems... LOL
Thanx mate that's such a help, I'll try to keep her between 4-5K. BTW i'am using power petrol should i try something diff just in case i wounder.
That's what and sometimes you can figure out alot about a bike by its mileage figures its just an index to talk about and not something one actually is looking for in at least R15
Thanx for pointing out the right notion over here bro, even I'm sort of worried about the Fi sys, adding to my misery the YAMAHA svc dont have a FID sys to check whether or not my air fuel mixture is right ..
where as some ppl get it wrong when I posted here , iwas expecting some other ways to chk the matter out if anybody could help the thing. All the other "in's and out's of mileage" is known to one and all that it often depends on how you ride and all.
Similar to this,, many ppl who said that their chain have been replace close to 800 ODO and they wanted to know is it fine or not? where as I have clocked around 13K ODO and its yet to get at 3rd last setting , but i was not supposed to post him that "you must have thrashed your babe R15 to her limits and besides you must be a residence of some uphill place in India and still you expect to last your chain" No never ever coz it is understood by one and all that if he must have posted the scenario then he must have positively checked all these possibilities and still he is left unanswered and thats when Xbhp patron ship plays its very prominent role of providing the proper ans's to one and all
This is very well understood by you and me but not with others, but still thanx for keeping the right spirit and things right. M sorry if I must have had got somethings wrong here and there
Rightly said and properly put forth, what actually I wanted to pen down in words, kudos
your english looks pretty broken. taking a long time to read it.

Just go ahead get out your battery for charging and you are fine to go without it as well. Once done and my bike's just fine. And to add ,its really easy to start the bike in any gear, using a lill push just in case your battery runs dry

                              • Front Disk problem!

                                Hey guys,

Noticed somethin during my last few rides, when i use my front disk brake it isn't a smooth action.. There's a kinda skipping feelin through the handlebars.. Is this normal, or is my disk bent or somethin? Bike has never been dropped.

In other news, have completed 2600km on the R15, should be givin it for service in a week or so. Planning to try out Bangalore Wheels as i've heard they are the best here. Bike's been giving me mileage of around 30-34 kmpl, however i ride (cruising on highway or belting in the city). Handles like a dream. Only problem i'm experiencing is roughness from the engine, which will probably be a thing of the past once i get the service done.

                                Regards.
