  • Some pics I committed

    Hey guys,
So today finally I picked a couple of pics from my phone and after some research on how to post pics & watermarking them (in the coffee lounge thread under universal ) which I should have & must have know for ages.., but never mind

So these are a couple of pics of my ABS in the front

    Abs at the back...

You shall notice that my brake hoses have been positioned to a diff setup (positions ) than normal.

And my beloved angel eyed babe.. just for fun ( the below pic is much older than ABS ones back then just the normal stock brakes so they are missing)

Do tell me what you feel , critics always welcome, I wish I could post some nice quality pics but m newbie in photography and all..

Nice setup. Just one question, why do u need an ABS valve on a bike which has brakes with bucket-loads of progression and feel?
          (*No offence-personal opinion.)

I completely second you on this and to be true as i earlier said even I was skeptical that how on earth can something like this ABS can improve the dynamics of the braking which is already best I have ever come across. And I spent holy 6 months or so thinking all this and more, I even PM'ed many Xbhpians who have had installed it on P220 and Zma but there reply was some mixed reaction , eventually i thought its worth the experiment (and committed that just in case I dont like it I'll sell it half price ) But to my utter surprise it works wonderfully , believe me bro you have to drive it once to tell what wonders it can perform. Of course you have to just bleed it right at the time of installation and rest is just very simple.

I know my testimony wont make ABS a must try thing but it is just awesome for my driving frame of reference and that's what I call "sense".

Cool! Especially the angel eyes. Didn't think they'd look that good without projectors!

Just one Q- how are they kept in place? Glued to the reflector?
              You get the point?? :D

Thanx buddy,Even M planning on Bi-xenon projectors but not able to get hands on a good pair, well surely do it in a month or so.

And about the glue M not quite sure, if you see the pic in detail you shall find two angel eyes , one actually glows and the other one is probably acrylic which is nice thick, just behind the one which glows and this gives a neat and classy edge and dont know if they are actually glued together Its not visible its like glued with transparent glue and at the points where you cant actually see it glued

Yaar I think its too steep for them and getting good OEM projectors from oversees will drill my pocket very deep so that nothing shall be left for fuel, Can you plz help me on this , And M looking for good Bi-xenon ones and not the p220 or others

Hey one more thing what should be the cost of rear stock R15 Tyre in manglore and what should be the approximate shipping cost to pune??

Apparently there is a time frame within which this needs to be done as well (they didnt tell me the date). You will need to remind them to do it, I gave my bike last week to Orion and they didnt mention it. I had to call them and tell them to do it.

My bikes's chassis no. didn't feature in that, & so I wasn't eligible for the free radiator change.
Apparently, a batch (or more) of the radiators might have issues, reason why Yamaha is repalcing them FOC.

and they had done the mods already on each R15 they received on their own from the very beginning.
and he inquired whether i faced any problem with my current unit, to which i replied- No, as i am not facing any issue.

^Owner is known to me(a relative as well) and offers discounts and i am satisfied with them overall as of now, and as per them if the need arises my radiator shall be replaced.
My bike is from the 1st or 2nd lot, i.e. July 3rd, 2008.
After reading your replies, I am a bit confused as to what I should get done, since I have not faced any radiator leakage issues on my bike yet. But I have seen other bikes from the same lot with issues, eg.HydBiker's bike.
Is this a company provided replacement like the mesh on the RHS panel or a warranty claim issue? If it is the latter, then I had better hurry up, since my warranty is expiring in a week's time!

@jd666: What exactly is meant by replace brake internal components at 2 years? Is he referring to the heat sink/pin?

@All: Confirmed that the new prices of brake pads are as follows:
Rear: Old price Rs.1115, New price Rs.690
Front: Old price Rs.685, New price Rs.390.
The quality&maker remain the same, no compromise here.
This has been done after taking customer inputs/grievance about the high cost of wear&tear parts replacement, looks like they don't want us to stop riding the bike or crib about spending too much on maintaining it.
                          Yes Yamaha!

                          • ^^ By the brake internal components, it means that parts like the piston, rubber seals etc should be inspected. And the brake fluid etc should be replaced.

Also generally the brake components, like rubber parts etc ( at the master cylinder, etc ) should be replaced once after 3-4 years.

                            • Radiator is being replaced like the Mesh Panel . FOC.

I dont want to get it changed , but stil getting it changed cos i needed to change the coolant after 2 years , and its about time exactly , so a new radiator instead.
