My new Yellow R15 was not even a month old !!!!! I was almost geared so escaped with minor problems ( I think So). My DSG Nero and Cramster MX-3 took all the casualties. But my boolean was scratch less. Nero got its right shoulder teared!! But now i cant put my hands up..

About they bike.. Right fairing in which R15 decal on it, fully broken. The center fairing which surrounds the headlamps are broken. What would be the cost?

Sorry to hear about the crash. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

    About the parts:
Outer fairing (with r15 decal) Rs575
Front fairing (which surrounds headlamps) Rs380

I know you havent asked for these part's price, but they must have suffered damage, and the brackets on the inside which hold the fairings together will probably be broken, so I'd suggest check for damage and replace if the inside brackets are broken as fairings will vibrate at higher speeds.

    Inner fairing Rs250 (Approx)
    Exhaust cover Rs300
    Exhaust cap Rs150

Also, check if the front forks are bent, and the clip on will be bent towards the inside. You need to get these changed/repaired too.
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

    • Hello friends,

I wanted to ask if we can install gear indicator and speedo healer to R15?

I didn't have a thorough inspection on my bike. Yes.. i will check the fairing mounting brackets as well. My right hand is in sling. And i am much worried about the bike's condition as the bike is new. Anyway.. i know i have to face it. All the dealers here are on holiday as we celebrate Onam festival here. The svc will be opened on wednesday only. i am looking forward to get the bike to svc on wednesday.
No.. the bike didn't have any handling problem. I have ridden the bike back to home. Its absolutely fine, I think so.
Another doubt about my jacket. My DSG Nero's right shoulder is a little bit tore in the fall.. there is an extra padding outside on the shoulder. How can i get it repaired?
If you need a reason to ride, you are not on the right bike.

Hmm maybe the forks are allright ( You'd be lucky if they are as they cost around 4k to replace and any repair work will be just temporary), but the right clip on would definitely be bent towards the tank.

Do a self check for determining if the clip on is alright or not:
            1. Unlock the steering lock of the bike ( I mean either put the key in off position or in on position, i.e. the steering shouldn't be locked)
            2. turn the handle to the extreme left, and take a measure with your fingers of how much space is between the clip on and the tank
            3. turn the handle to the extreme right, and take a measure with your fingers of how much space is between the clip on and the tank
            4. if the distance between the tank and the clip on is equal on both sides, then you have nothing to worry about
            5. but if 1 distance is slightly (or excessively more than the other) then be prepared to shell out Rs450 per clip on.

PS: Do not ride the bike if the clip on is bent inwards, as doing this will cause damage to your shoulder's alignment. Also handling of the bike will get tarnished.

            • a speedo healer is a device which rectifies speedo errors to give 100% accuracy(indicates actual speed without lag), convert kmph-mph, records top speed, top speed wont be restricted by factory speed limiter

and a gear indicator of course indicates gear..it will connect to bikes ECU...

these are available for R125...but am not sure if they are available for R15 .

Most popular brand is GIPRO, for more info check Healtech electronics website.

I checked my bike... Clip ons are Ok.. Thank God... only cosmetic damage. All i need is the availability of parts..
What about the Jacket??? can i get it repaired?

The side fairing should be around 600 (older ones, not sure about newer stickered ones). The front plastic is about 350 (again, older one).
                  Thanks for your reply

Jeezz.. i feel guilty now, my bike has done 40K + now and i still haven't given her a treat. Still on same tires that came installed, just changed brake pads twice. Engine oil is changed every 4Kms, chain is cleaned and sprayed every 2kms, coolant is checked every 10Kms, if low refilled, brake oil is checked every 10Kms, if low refilled, am i missing something ?

PS: The way i am driving this days, i don't think i need a new pair of tyres, R15 is hardly doing above 60kmph this days.

                      • hi Friends

hi how are u friends? did 1st servicing of my R15 a few days back. Engine oil and Oil filter changed and horn sharpened.
ALL IZZ WELL so far(Touchwood) and hope to be in the Future.
the SVC couldn't sort out the vibrations from the visor side which comes up at 3k-4.5k rpm. will try putting some thermocol there.
can you please guide me as to what max rpm I should treat her after 1st service...been taking her upto 6k rpm. and what are the things to look for.
been riding very less compared to other bikers, done only 600kms till date.

vibrations also comes when the bolts are over tightened. I have experienced same type of vibrations at 4k rpm, but they were gone when the bolts are loosened.

I dont follow a rule book to service the bike, I work on my bike as and when needed.
