Buddy... i am using motul chain clean and chain lube. You are right, motul doesn't last long. but in case if i use Yamalube (or Motul), Is it necessary to use chain clean before every chain lube application. Pardon me if my doubt is silly. coz i am new to Oring chain.

Sarvajit.
Absolutely not
. It's been a month and with a lot of offroading, slush, muck and touring. I haven't got the Chain clinging noise yet, and on physical viewing and touching it does feel lubed. But, today got it lubed again as had to go to SS for some issues which I will discuss below.
JitenMitsry.
Must be tried out definitely.
and the Exhaust looks great. Hope to catch you at some Pune g2g.
I'm facing two problems, or rather actually one. Firstly, I'm having slight vibrations above 4,000RPM at the Visor. Checked with the two SSs but they haven't got it fixed successfully. Secondly, I have minor vibrations on the Tank. My legs/thighs can feel it. I'm pretty sure these were non existent before.
it's 15,xxx Kms old and Tappets were checked so were all the Engine mountings and other related bolts. More irritated with the Visor Vibrations.

Search the thread. These are extremely common questions, and to avoid redundancy, we don't post the answers again and again.Originally posted by chothibai View Postfolks!!!!im going for the r15 in a day or two,so just wanna know what are the things that i should check while taking the delievery of my bike, and what differences are their in the 2010 model so that i can make out its not the 2009 model..one i know is the graphic difference bt i dont know the other ones....thanks
For the visor, there's a small black tape kinda thing which cushions the space between the clear visor, and the small triangular black part. Remove the visor and put anything in between which will cushion out the vibrations.Originally posted by Sharan_R View PostI'm facing two problems, or rather actually one. For the tank, most probably the tank bolts are loose. If the tank bolts seem properly tightened, there are two more bolts which fix the fuel tank's upper bracket underneath it. Check those.
Preferably yes. Because spraying lube on a dirty chain will make matters worse.Originally posted by ezy_rider View Post@ Sarvajit

If its a bad spot (like while touring and stuff) temporarily you can spray lube over existing lube, but mostly clean and lube every time.
Okay, back with a few updates. My bike's done 16,600kms. I had started feeling vibes beyond 7krpm which sort of deterred me from revving. Got down and dirty with stuff today. Sometime back I'd asked how to remove the power connection underneath the pump. Well I've figured it out. There's a small clip which snaps into the pump body. Check the picture:

Upon checking the mount bolts, I found the upper bolt to be quite loose! It took me 4 sets of 1/3rd rotations (in the cramped area
) to get the bolt tightened! So guys who feel vibes kicking in, need to check this one. The lower two bolts were ok. The lowermost needed just 1 1/3rd rotation, and the middle one was perfect. Here's the location of the upper bolt:

Also, this thing caught me eye. The fuel pump's got a sticker which has the part number (3C1) and is made by ANI in Indonesia:
You get the point?? :D

Many people have questioned about vibration, but I still not understand what level they have got vibration. If my R15 show vibration on high RPM then how / what measure I need to use to consider a vibration (I have done 13500+ KM now).

Thanks svjhonda and jd666
and, well I put up small foam pieces between the visor. Sort of, helped. Will do what svj said tomorrow. Tank vibrations, I'll have to go to the SS.
Another thing is I was feeling a bit of roughness while steering in my steering and handle. I thought it was due to lack of lubrication in my T-Cone and it turned out to be true. I left my bike at SS last Tuesday and it was done, but now there seems to be a lot of play in the Handle when I hit potholes and etc. I checked with another SS and they said the lubing hasn't been done properly and he showed it to me by lifting the front wheel up and showing the roughness in the Handle. Now, if my T-cone set has been gone it would put me back Rs 2000. So what would be the best solution? Give it to the Same SS and ask them as to what have they done?
I hope I could explain the above properly
Suddenly my bike now is developing minor issues and stuff related to wear and tear. Damn!

Basically try a remember what your bike felt like when it was brand new. I use that as a bench mark. Just about 2500kms. Run-in done, and bike running at its best! So compared to that, vibrations increased or decreased, and if so, tighten the mount bolts.Originally posted by JitenMistry View PostMany people have questioned about vibration, but I still not understand what level they have got vibration. It is 14mm. You can use a wrench for the top bolt, and a spanner (included in toolkit) for the lowermost bolt (on the LHS of the bike), but the middle bolt will need a box wrench, and the one in the toolkit is too short. Doesn't protrude out long enough to put a screwdriver/bar through and turn...Originally posted by chiku181 View Post@svjhonda
what size spanner do we require to tighten the upper engine mounting bolts??? I can feel vibration near the tank area which was not present earlier... must be the engine mounting bolts...
Same thing happened with me. Because I didn't have a torque wrench, and I'm guessing the svc didn't use it either. The steering head hasn't been tightened properly. Lube isn't the issue, torque is. I had to keep playing with different settings till I reached the perfect torque.Originally posted by Sharan_R View PostAnother thing is I was feeling a bit of roughness while steering in my steering and handle. Hi guys!!!
I'm new to the club. Its 1week of my new R15 yellow.
I had these queries in mind,
My bike did 400km already.
- What about chain lube? I've read somewhere that we need to apply it in 200km interval or something. Is it true?
- Yesterday I felt serious heat blowing on to my right leg right from below the tank, why is that so? Is it that the engine heated up?I've been riding in 1-2gears in traffic for about 20mins then. What is the solution?
- Horn was a huge letdown,Can I just change it or do I need any specs for it?(Yup, im a N00B)
- Also about philips LEDs (circle ones) the ones they call Angel eyes, will it effect battery? since the byk is DC..
- I don't trust the yamaha SVC near my house, Because.. they exchanged one bikes rear panel with mine when I found it deffective and wanted a replacement during delivery. So, should I just go to a Castrol Bike Zone or get the first service done there itself. I live in Hyd by the way.
- Which svc is better in hyderabad?
- Is yamalube semi synthetic oil available anywhere other than yamaha svc?
- How often should I check air?
Any other tips will be very helpful.
Thenx in advance
