    • @leshy--Can't really comment, but if I was in Bangalore, I wouldn't bat an eye-lid and head off straight to Joel for all mods.

From where is the squeaking heard? May be sand has entered your calipers.

I used Petronas Sprinta 5000T 10w40 fully synthetic on my older 150cc bike, but the oil was all black&just above the low mark at 1250 kms.
I switched back to mineral, and the oil level did not drop/change color till 2K kms.!
As for the R15, I started off with mineral & have been using the semi-synth Yamalube ever since the third service. I don't top it up-directly drain it out at around 4K kms.
I am sure that the fully synth will need a topup, but was curious to see how the bike responds to it, being a thinner oil (10w40), it should rev more freely. Wanted to just see how the bike responds to it-since no one has posted their experience, its tough to say how long it lasts&when it needs a topup!

@svjhonda: When did the Motul 300V require a topup&how much? It could be an indicator of how the Yamalube full synth might behave.
I have never switched the stock oil till now. Have just crossed 5k km on the odo. I was planning on switching to Motul FS oil since I am someone who always lives in the 7k - 10k RPM band. Will get both the oil and the filter changed at the next service due at 6k kms

What Krishnakant has, is a custom painted one. He had initially purchased a grey one.
You sure? Anyway, only way I can find out is by keeping the cowl on my bike and seeing. I'll do that tomorrow.

P.S: It wasn't bright enough for my color I'm sure about that.

Dude, they are already selling it! There was a piece in the showroom two days ago with complete black RIMS! Inquire with your SVC when the next batch of LEs are coming and see for yourself. The salesman said the factory is sending out LEs with Black RIMS now. I don't know if its a permanent change or only for a few batches. GRAB IT WHILE YOU CAN!

Today, my bike was suddenly showing the orange ''engine'' symbol repeatedly. I know it stands for electrical fault. When the bike was moving, it didnt flash, but as soon as came to a halt, it started flashing again! I cannot understand why its happening.. anybody know what could have gone wrong? While riding, it doesnt flash at all. And while idling, with all the lights off, it still flashes. Why is this happening? Could this be a weak battery?

You can use it anytime you want, I would suggest use it ASAP so that you will feel the difference which is much better with MOTUL. Just make sure that you change the oil filter also along with.

                      MOTUL 5100T is Semi-Synthetic

First read the Code The Yellow ligh blinks to give us a code number, it's a Code number that tells us what is wrong. The Yellow light Blinks in TWO speeds, Count the first one and the second one thaos ewill give you a two digit number. You may look into the service manual for more information

                        • I am using Motul 300V 5W40 fully synthetic Oil for last 2k Kms . Does it need top up or it ll go all the way to 3.5k-4.5k(I normally change FS oil after 4k) . Current Odo reading is 8.5k Kms and I intend to change the oil post 10K ,when my R15 gets 6th servicing .

                            Hey,
Guys i have a problem: i recently got my battery changed, after that things got Worse. Now sometime if i'm in heavy traffic, running using the head lights on and when the bike is switched off, it hesitate to starts. Couple of times i had to Push start the bike in Signals (So embarasing na..). But after raising the accelerator it solves the problem. it happens always when i'm in traffic? Is my battery has problem or SOmething else is draining my battery ? Please share your thoughts

Note: My bike is 5 months Old and has done 7500KMs. i have a MIDA battery in my baby R1

Well, I am not an expert here, but what I understand is that there can be some idling problems (since you said that once you raise the accelerator and then it starts).

I think you must have checked, but is the battery of the same specs.. 12V 4amps? If there is some problem with the battery, the bike would hesitate to start after a prolonged stoppage (like in the morning) did you noticed some problems like that?

When did you last serviced the bike? It can be a possibility that the Air Filter is clogged, so the engine is not able to breathe properly.

                            I hope this helps.

                            • Vibration issue solved

SC did a good job, they made my machine vibration free. i faced vibrations since after the crash

1- engine mount bolts were found loose
                              2- handlebar bolts were loose
3- they even opened the fairing and checked the same for each and every bolt

                              i am very happy!
                              party time for me!

Since your bike is 5 years old and assuming you have run it during the monsoon, it looks like a problem with the spark plug adapter which has shorted. Take it to the SVC and ask the mechanic to replace it (75/-). Should work.
