Touch wood, nothing like that happened Digi, when I found tarmac on hills I was at good speed and while coming back on plains was cruising easily with my saddle bag.

A pic of my bike with the saddle bag

          • Any added weight to the bike will make a difference in performance, can't really avoid that. Besides, saddle bags are for touring, what's the point of acceleration/top speed then? Fuel Efficiency might drop marginally, but then again, that depends on a ton of other factors too.
            D'oh!

Na ... what i was trying to ask is if there is any discomfort riding with saddle bags on the R15 , i'm planning to get one . I was just seeking the opinion of someone who's has used one ..

Which saddle bags are these? And what tyres were you running for Front and Rear on your Leh trip?

@SilentKnight: No discomfort to the rider except that fully loaded saddlebags do add to the weight of the bike which you need to maneuver. I've used to Cramster Colt and recently shifted to Getoffurass Saddlebags. The latter one is larger and even with this I could ride quite comfortably with the bags filled to the brim. But the handling characteristics does change quite a bit, but you just adapt with it Was able to take corners at good speeds. Didnt make the bike unstable.

Ever had a chance to drive her long?? If you had to, this kind of thinking would have never kept you with sleepless nights thinking money is wasted. I've had all chances to take her for long including SS 1000 which had continuous ripping of 120+, still she performed flawlessly.

The start of the year for you still looks great, else you wouldn't be typing out this. Rite?

Thats a 120section tire, if I'm not wrong? You had to make adjustments to the swingarm width to accommodate it, right? Many times, the SVC guys in my city just file-off a small portion of the swingarm where the tire touches to do this

nope. 120 section tire can be fitted without any alterations to the swing arm. My friend has mrf nylogrip installed in his bike, its a 120 sec. The rear height increases a bit and the bike accelerates slowly. But for someone who has the bike just to show off in college, seems like a worthwhile change.

@ ashaq : sorry about the crash bro, hope you're all right. Good luck with getting her back together

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.
