Ah, I love doing drags with the four-wheeled automotive counterparts! I just pull next to someone who thinks he's going fast, ride alongside for a few seconds and then twist the throttle and watch him fade away in the distance on my rear view mirror . This bike is a gift from the gods! 150cc single-cylinder and kicking asses all the way to the top of the ''cc'' charts

      • where can i get my tubeless checked?

Guys, had a puncture on the rear tyre a week back and got it repaired from a road side tyre guy.But then on my rear tyre has been losing pressure.

Can you guys suggest any place in Bangalore where i can get my tubeless thoroughly checked through professionals and get it fixed?I mean a place where they would have a proper know how for tubeless tyres.

As of now i m getting my air pressure checked every 3 days..

        Thanks in Advance

I've been experiencing a problem with my R15 regarding the engine note. While driving above 40-50 kph, the engine runs/accelerates with a strong humm. The sound is wavy ... like 'mmmm (hard) - mm (light) -mmmm (hard) - mm (light) ...'

I use Indian Oil Extra Premium Petrol
bike has run 1400 km on Yamalube SS since the day of delivery.
First service done @ 900 km

withing 500km after the first service, the gears have become clunky (I can feel the jerk of the transmission assembly hitting the flywheel )

Is it possible that the air filter is at fault/needs cleaning? I have previously owned a Pulsar 220cc 2010 model. I experienced a similar issue with it as well. I tried changing petrol (BP Speed) but only pickup has increased marginally. The sound is still there.

          One more question !
When i stop my bike in my garage after say 40-45 min of city riding, i hear a funny 'punnnnn' sound from the right side of the chassis (coolant filling part). Is it normal? Bike is running fine though.

          Thanks & happy holidays!
The sound and the jerky behaviour sounds like sex to me

That asides, you might have worn out your engine oil/clutch plates
(I am assuming your chain and sprockets are in good condition a faulty sprocket could also lead to it)

Is the jerk predominant during all RPMs or works in a specific RPM range/throttle position.

The last behaviour is normal, its the radiator cooling off the bike.

Why not try scanning for puncture yourself! Chances are you could have damaged the rim or allignment while fixing the puncture... How old is the tyre, how big was the puncture?

          • There might be micro punctures also-my rear tyre has them&loses 2-3psi every day.
            The tyre's life is also over-crossed 20K kms.with it.

The SVC technician told me they do not remove the chain to clean it. They just use spray. I'm suspecting they did not tighten the chain in the first service.

Although i doubt the sprockets are damaged (since the bike has only run 1400 km), i'll still get them checked. Is there a way i can check myself for damaged sprocket ?

The jerk is only present if i shift between 4-5 RPM. Below that (3-3.5) it is fine and the engine picks up well even after an early shift. Same after 5 RPM, there are only few times (say 1 out of 5) when i feel a jerk.

Abt the engine oil. I got it replaced @ 900 km during 1st Service. Is it possible that the engine oil is rendered useless within 500 km??
I do not rip hard, but i do clutch a lot. I even shift a lot between 1st & 2nd gears in bumper to bumper traffic. Is it possible i have damaged the clutch plates ??

Thanks for the prompt reply mate!

There have been cases where rim alignment has been the cause for slow & steady air pressure reduction.

Check for any visible cracks along the rim (both sides)
The best thing to do would be to get the tyre removed @ the yamaha service center, then take it home or to any tyre repair shop, dip it in water and see where the bubbles come out from. It will be tedious but will surely tell you what your tyre wants to say

If you delay this, it could worsen. Dont drive your bike with such a problem...safety first for all XBHPians

Thanks for replying.I too thought about that option. But what to do once i find the places on the tyre which are leaking.Should i go ahead and repair them myself using the puncture repair kit?
Also the guy who fixed the puncture dint remove the tyre from the rim.He too used the puncture repair kit.So i guess there were no damages to the rim in the process.Have done about 6200kms on these tyres.Puncture was not too big, just a small nail..

Read somewhere that the leaks can be fixed from inside the Tyre by removing the tubeless tyres from the rim.So wanted to find out a reliable place where it can be done in Bangalore.

The front sprocket can wear out on one side in anything from 1500-2500 kms. So get that flipped ( face changed ), and installed. See if that makes any difference.

Ah! Just 1400KMs, I wont worry about anything that I said earlier on a bike from Yamaha. Relax, I guess its early days. Just check for the clutch cable and lever play. That should be it.

You dont need to remove chain to clean the chain.
If I were you, I would rather lube and clean the chain myself. its cheaper and you would always do a better job than the SVC for it.

Check this for knowing how to effectively clean and lube the chain.

Check if you have a half an inch play on the chain. The slack wouldnt increas so soon.

PS: I hope you changed the oil filter in the first service as well. Relax, nothings wrong, under 3K Kms avoid sudden throttling, go easy with the bike and it shall be worth the patience for a mighty good long time!

Relay assembly costs about 85Rs-88Rs approx as I picked up a spare one recently. Not 120rs or 250rs. The price has never increased or decreased! You are all being taken for a ride by your respective SVC.
