There is a service center of Kamla Yamaha at Sun Mill Compound Lower parel (Opp. Phoenix Mall). Their No. is 24948100. You can ask for Rakesh who is the main supervisor. My suggestion is to call and ensure that the parts are available before you set out.
Hope this helps!

Yesterday, while riding back from office, the handling just did not seem right. The bike felt nervous at turns. At higher speed she behaved fine though. I thought maybe the type pressure was low. Reached home, checked the pressure - it was fine. I thought maybe its psychological! Stress at work!
Today on the way to office, I felt the same too. It felt like the bike was wobbling a bit at low speed. At signals, I tried turning the handle from side to side - sure enough it felt notchy. Now, how did the cone set degrade like that just in a day? Has it happened to others too?
Anyways, saw the Pacer Yamaha showroom (Banaswadi) on the way to office, decided to bunk office for the day! I asked them to grease the cone-set and rear swingarm. They diagnosed that both the wheels had small bends too, asked them to do the alignment.
Now for the bill - cone set greasing - 450, swingarm greasing - 400, wheel alignment - 400 for both wheels. It was more than I was used to pay, but decided to check out the service. They were competent enough to do it, but were careless - got one or two light scratches for free.
But the problem got solved. The front fork plastic caps were cracked by them while hammering - but were replaced free of cost.
Overall, average service, not worth the cost at all - local mech will do a much careful and decent job.
BTW, my ride is 2yrs old.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Ouch! Hope you are fine man???Originally posted by veyron999 View Postmet with an accident..
tried to veer away, failed, fell to the right
replaced the RHS fairing, lhs mirror, front mask for 1745/- (w/o insurance claim)
rhs mirror not available here
2 things:
1- i will be coming to mumbai on the 7th for a few days..
can you direct me to some factory spare part shop near powai??
2- the front visor, actually the whole front headlight, etc. assembly seems to be bent inwards from the right a bit..
don't know how to get it fixed..
and yeah one more thing, i got the left mirror replaced but the images in it seem to be zoomed in for some reason..what are the odds of getting a replacement??
How did the repairs come upto Rs 1700???
You can try MALAD(W) Factory Shop. You can get the details from the Net. You can try the Factory shop in Pune too, if you happen to cross Pune too. Inquire with them, before going.
And about the visor bent, it must be due to a Bracket(Not sure, what's the term for it) under the cowl. It Costs Rs 350 and around. Not sure. Check it!
Keep it posted
Take care and rest!
All the Best!
Happy new year too!

Hi all,
I've a few more questions and would really apprectiate if i could get some help, now my bikes done 300 km, i am keeping it under 5k rpm , though a couple of times it did reach 6k just for a few seconds, but normally the needle is always at 5k mark. But still, even after a short ride 10kms or so, i smell something burning while the temperature is normal , and the smell goes away in just a few minutes. Also , i can hear a constant rat-rat sound at 5k rmp in sixth gear, it is very mild, just wanted to know if its normal.
Also, I saw something which seemed like dried paint coming off from the front alloy , tape like - black thing , no discoloration of the alloy though and it seems fine doesnt even look like the paint has come off but then what was that thing ?
Also, one of my friends told me to get the oil and filter changed at 300 km
(before the first service), he said that filter and oil accumulate a lot of dust in the initial 300 kms ,should i go ahead ?
And can i take the bike on a trip of 200-250 kms after the first service if i promise to keep her under 7.5 k RPMs?Last edited by abhi_underdog; 01-01-2011, 12:13 AM.sigpic

FYI, Bangalore Wheels & Perfect Riders charge INR 250 for each of the overhaulings (coneset, swingarm, etc). Go to them next time for a lower bill, & good work.
You missed telling us if the feel of the bike is back to normal after the above work that was carried out.
My views on the YZF-R15 V2.0: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/news/198...tml#post699240
The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

i didn't hurt myself much though(surprisingly), one thing i noticed is that yamaha has really done a good job in designing the bike..when i fell, the rhs panel protected my leg, the tank protected my thighs (the tank has one small dent and a few scratches which are no more visible thanks to teflon!)
but this incident left me hurt within...
i replaced the rhs panel for 800/-,
the front mask for 640/-,
lhs rvm for -251/-
labor charges-55/-
i'll post a pic and then maybe you could point out the part...
will check it up on google..and no i won't be going to pune any time soon..
will keep you posted..
thanks again!after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

My bike shows the same symptoms after a colleague of mine drove around it rashly for a day. And my bike is just 2 months old
I will get it checked at the next service.

The Smell ... its normal
. Its the smell of vapors given off by heated parts in and around your engine. It will be more prominent on rainy days and its here to stay!
RPM alone is irrelevant. Make sure you stay in 4-5k RPM for 1-5th. And only do 6/7k in 6th. Don't pin your bike on 5k like everyone usually does on highways. Its bad for a new engine. Accelerate to 6k then go back to 4k. Keep varying your speed. Annoying but it will pay off!
Absolutely make sure your clutch is always tight ... just fold off the clutch lever's gasket and check for clutch free play. If you experience jerky shifts, just tighten the wire a bit. If you are a compulsive clutcher like me
then another piece of advice - don't shift down to 1st in traffic, pull it on 2nd. It might feel like its about to die off, but it wont.
If you need to know how to tighten the clutch, then quote back.
A loose clutch + late shifts (6k and beyond) + dry/loose chain do maximum wear-out to your bike during run-in. Make sure these are taken care of.
Change oil filter & engine oil @ 500km and again @ 1000km. Just make sure you don't use your 1st Free service card on the first change. Ask the Service technician to make an ordinary job card.
The rat-rat sound could be because of -
1. loose Fairing screws/bolts
2. faulty ring elements in chain
3. maybe even a loose chain
4. worst ... engine
Try to pin down which area its coming from and get back
Hope my BLOB helped

You can make a trip but don't pin her down on 5k or so for more than 2-3 minutes. Drive at varied speeds. 7k is ok on 6th gear.Originally posted by abhi_underdog View PostAnd can i take the bike on a trip of 200-250 kms after the first service if i promise to keep her under 7.5 k RPMs?Last edited by bhavandeepsingh; 01-01-2011, 02:18 PM.

jerky shifts for first and second gear , slightly jerky, clutch is a little loose so is the chain.Originally posted by bhavandeepsingh View PostThe Smell ... its normal

Also, what else do they during the first service apart from washing, changing oil, filter, chain cleaning and lubing ? anything else ?sigpic

Tighten the clutch yourself. Pretty easy! For chain i'd suggest you go to the SVCOriginally posted by abhi_underdog View Postjerky shifts for first and second gear , slightly jerky, clutch is a little loose so is the chain.
Also, what else do they during the first service apart from washing, changing oil, filter, chain cleaning and lubing ? anything else ?
The lubing is an area of question. Some SVC mechanics will use chain clean spray (MOTUL mostly) & for lubing they use mineral oil instead of the dry-type MOTUL lube.
Make sure you get the latter. Its much better and lasts longer and avoids a dusty, sticky mess
If they are honest to their work, they'll check everything mentioned on the Service Job Card (In you R15 Service manual). Make sure you specifically ask them to clean air-filter on every service.
Major replacements like spark plug/clutch plates/disk pads happen much much later...10k or more depending upon your riding style.
Hope you've gotten rid of the saree guard

wobbling is usually because of steering mis-alignment (most common after head on accidents). Another reason could be your front-fork alignment.Originally posted by Sandeep_K_Ram View PostMy bike shows the same symptoms after a colleague of mine drove around it rashly for a day. I will get it checked at the next service.
Get them checked ASAP as it puts stress on your shockers.Last edited by bhavandeepsingh; 01-02-2011, 05:45 PM.

You dont need to remove chain to clean the chain.
If I were you, I would rather lube and clean the chain myself. its cheaper and you would always do a better job than the SVC for it.
Check this for knowing how to effectively clean and lube the chain.
Check if you have a half an inch play on the chain. The slack wouldnt increas so soon.
PS: I hope you changed the oil filter in the first service as well. Relax, nothings wrong, under 3K Kms avoid sudden throttling, go easy with the bike and it shall be worth the patience for a mighty good long time!
Hurray ! I got the MOTUL chain clean and lube pair... You were right ....i actually managed better lubing than a SVC mechanic. But, it was harder cleaning the aftermath than lubing the chain
I also adjusted the clutch myself and the shift-jerks have disappeared. Ah! feels so good to drive her now. Butter smooth!
Thanks for the help!

Yes, it much better now. Went on a trip to Coorg. She behaved flawlessly!
Check the rims for bends too.Originally posted by Sandeep_K_Ram View PostMy bike shows the same symptoms after a colleague of mine drove around it rashly for a day. And my bike is just 2 months old
