but isnt it ok to revv it till 7.5K after 500 kms according to the manual ??

P.S.- btw, forgot to ask .... what happened to your baby's lags ??
Well I personally kept my bike under 4k till around 700-750kms, then gave a few bursts of 5k till 1000. After the first service, my cruising speed was 75kmph i.e. 5k, and I gave short bursts till 6k sometimes, this continued till 1500kms. After those 1500kms I've been riding depending on mood.

See what the manual says about running in is pretty conservative. Most of the running in of an engine happens in the initial 100-200kms only after those initial kms you can open up the bike slowly and steadily. Most people don't do the slow and steady part and start red lining right after the first service, which is almost as bad as redlining right after 200kms.

Think about it this way, when a kid clears class1, he comes into class2, class2's study material is just a little advanced than that of class1. There is a reason for that, the learning curve. The kid does not get into class 3 or 4 as he is not properly accustomed to the load of higher classes. Similarly there is a running in curve, if you've kept a bike under 4k till 1000kms and right after the first service you start redlining, it is like shifting the kid from class1 to class4. The engine may perform initially but performance will degrade in the laster stages. I've seen this happen on my friend's R15 hence telling you guys.

Be conservative about speeds during the running in period, You've paid over a lakh for your bike which is hard earned money, your's or your parents', being careful will surely not hurt.

As for the lags, they come when I go past 5k on a cold engine, no lags experienced when I touch the redline on a warm engine, will get the service done asap.

A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Yes- I specifically visited the SVC for that (after the 1st service); still they didn't!
I guess, I should write to Yamaha- would do it now! Thanks for the suggestion!

Sharing few pictures after washing / buffing / waxing.

Gleams like new, only hiccup is my RVM's paint has chipped off. Will get it fixed soon.

The pictures are shot indoors, will get better photographs outside.

            bike in bedroom

She shines like a star, well taken care of.

Are those billet levers worth investing 1k each?

1 question though, why the removal of no. plate for pics? it'd be lot easier to just blacken out the no. in paint.
