man! i thought it was only me who did that!! even i cant stop looking at another R15 passing me even when i myself am riding it! damn why are our bikes so damn smoking hot?! lol!Originally posted by ZeNashB View PostBeautiful. Everytime I come onto this forum, my pride for the bike is completely refilled. I feel so good looking at the people around the country who own the same little ripper as me
There is no time when I havn't stared at a passing R15 belonging to a random stranger till he passes out of view, despite being on an R15 myself
. This baby makes me feel blessed. Re-invigorating the riding spirit every time I turn on that ignition and shift into the first gear. I am going to move onto bigger capacities and inline fours in a couple of years, but this baby will always stay close to my heart and will never be sold.

hey buddy i faced the same problem as you ...i had booked my bike on 13th Spt this year and was told that i would get it in the first week of Oct but i got it on the 24th Oct ... u can imagine how very frustrating that was ! and the culprit ??? it was the CWG ... bikes going out of Delhi were halted because of the Games and security issues ... i had to call up yamaha every other day to ask them about the progress!! but u are lucky buddy as there are no more Games and all that ! all your waiting is worth the bike !Originally posted by hardcorebiker View PostGuys I am suffering from a strange problem
As I told you before I had booked my R15(yellow) on 30th of Oct 2010 and they said it will be delivered by 5th December ... So more than a month wait :O
My holidays are going on and so I am free full day. I am eeagerly waiting for my bike and 15 days passed and I am damn frustrated.
I even called up the showroom people. They say that you will get it in 15 days...
Guys I CANT WAIT ANY MORE....
I daily get dreams at night about my R15... :P Lol its so strange
Can anyone tell me how to pass my 15 to 20 days without thinking of the R15?
i found it out on the first day of getting my mean machine !
so just chill bro!
oh yeah and even i couldnt stop about dreaming my bike hehe!

I had them. They blew off My Relay in 2 weeks. Later on learnt that, The Battery cannot support a 55W Bulb unless you do some electrical cutting outs and etc. Sold them, and got HIDs. Much Better!Originally posted by sheelpriye View PostWas it? My bad then. My tail lamp bulb is stock BTW
I have already fitted
The details--
Philips 12V 55/60W Crystal vision.
Cost--Rs. 900 or 950 (INR), can't exactly recall.
The illumination is good, if the road has a white-line separator (lane separator), else the normal stock lamps (on black tar road w/o any marking) is/was better.
This bulb illuminates the marking quite good, but I fear won't be very good in foggy winter nights/mornings. But then I won't be riding then.

Me & Saravjit are the victims, mine lasted for barely a week.Originally posted by xionite View Posthas anyone used the Yamaha OEM LED lights for the R15???
how long do they last? a few months?? or longer??
There is no warranty & it is too costly, you will get a better deal if you look around.
I have been using since past 5 months w/o any relays, no problems reported so far.Originally posted by Sharan_R View PostI had them. They blew off My Relay in 2 weeks. i have one question. do the racing kits which the Yamaha people are selling worth buying. in mumbai total cost for the kit is Rs. 58000/-. it includes Daytone Exhaust, ECM, Petal Disc and performance brakes and something more i don't remember. but is the Exhaust and ECM worth for the cost and will R15 perform to the best with this.
Thanks in advance.

Stock battery very with Twin HID at 3K very bad within 2-3 mins orange light on the console will lit up. I had to change the battery to 5Amp. or better keep only 1 HID on in low beam.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostHow does the battery cope with twin HIDs in city traffic? Front Tire replaced under Warranty
The front tire had a crack of a few inches. Yamaha SVC has given me a letter asking MRF to examine and replace the tire under warranty. On calling up MRF, they said an engineer would need to check the tire in person, and he would be available only late afternoon. This meant taking a day off from office.
Yesterday, I took a day off as I had a bad cold. Fixed an appointment with the MRF engineer for 4pm. First, brought the local tire puncture guy to remove the front tire. What a mammoth task! After removal, the bike was resting on a huge brick and a wooden plank where the front tire lies, and couple of sand-bags placed to the bike's left to save it in case of a fall!
As luck would have it, the MRF gowdown cum service center was very far(Quthbullapur, Hyd - 21kms) from where I stay, and I had to book a cab, spending 350 bucks in the ride itself.
At the godown, the MRF guys replaced the tre without any fuss! However, I was asked to pay 235 bucks for the using the tire for 4000kms. Something like the depreciation that is taken into account when you put in a claim to Insurance companies for rubber and steel parts. I did protest, but seemed it was a standard rule, and I could do nothing about it. Asked for the price of the tire, and was quoted a figure of Rs 1200 or so. The guy did add that these tires sell for much higher, as their availability was rare! Also,he said I was the first person in Hyd to get a tire replaced under warranty!
Returned home, happy with the outcome. Had saved quite a lot, had I purchased the tire at close to Rs 2000 elsewhere. Brought the local tire puncture guy to fit the front tire on the bike. Was heart-broken to see the guy beat the tire onto the rim mercilessly. I couldnt think of an alternative, and it left a lot of scratches. However, air kept escaping from the rim, and he just couldnt get the tire fitted right(all this while, the tire and rim were detached from the bike). I went to a car-tire alignment showroom, where they fitted the tire well. Post which I got the tire fitted back on the bike.
Long day!
Have to check air pressure today to see if all is well.
Thinking of buying this from ebay: a pressure gauge. Does it look fine?
eBay India: Mobile airmaster Tire/Tyre Pressure Gauge with Case (item 250727393942 end time 22-Nov-2010 19:45:33 IST)
At the end of the day, I was left wondering whether the pain was worth the saving of money for buying a new tire and getting it fitted at the Yamaha SVC where they would've certainly taken better care while removing and re-fitting the tire. The only way I could've done that is by leaving the bike with them, sans the tire for a few days. My bike had the tire crack for a week. The first time I had taken the bike to get the tire examined at the SVC and local MRF dealer was by re-filling the tire every one km or so, and pushing it when I couldnt find a tire shop!
Edit: One quick question: the moment i took the bike for a ride after the new tire was fitted, I noticed that the front brake lever was totally loose, with no braking power at all. I thought that the brake cable had been left unfixed when the tire was fitted. Went to the tire shop, but just then found the brake lever responding! It was back in form, totally firm in braking! What just happened???Last edited by Rider One Five; 11-17-2010, 12:36 PM.
