Did they just replaced your battery under warraty or did you had to overcome some hurdles for it???Originally posted by HotAntivirus View PostIts a problem with the battery surely, The same thing happened to me once and I wasn't able to start my bike then I jump started it and it was working fine after that, again when I faced the problem I went to the SVC and had to get a new battery.. Now I have Tata Green instead of Minda.Fun begins only after 6K rpm.....!

Thanx for the reply.
Can you tell me how much would the oil filter element cost?
Also can i claim or complaint about the thing that the svc guys did.
One thing more. As i am a student and quite busy these days(bcoz of xams), can i get the oil filter and oil replaced after riding the bike 300 or 400 kms, or is it an emergency.
Kindly reply bcoz im getting worried about my bike now.
If u run for about 300-400kms then it will be no use to replace anything because by that time it will show its effects on the engine...If you want your bike to run smooth then immediately change it...As u r having exams then it would be better if u take public transport or ask your friend for a lift....The oil filter cost is Rs. 400+...It is changed on the first svc....If u tell the svc guys then they will say that there is nothing to worry about anything...From there perspective the engine oil will not harm your engine but just tell them to change the oil and oil filter as u want it to be changed..
Did u noticed any heating or rough gearshifts after pouring in the mineral oil???

you should stick to mineral for at least 5k kms...but the svc guys will pour in the SS if you will not ask them to pour the mineral oil...But most people here including me have shifted to SS in their first svc and is not facing any problem.....dont go for FS...

Guys need your suggestions- I got my bike serviced two days back (1st service- done 800kms). Just noted that the oil filter cartridge must be changed around 1000kms. This wasn't done/asked by the ASC guys.
How important is it to change it? I rode around 60 to 70 km after the service- Should I get it changed at the earliest?
A quick response would be very much appreciated!

Oil filter cartridge is the oil filter I think, which is to be changed at the time of first service. Strange that the ASS did not change the oil filter. Get it changed asap, 60-70km of riding may not make THAT big a difference.Originally posted by kunnu@cbz View PostGuys need your suggestions- I got my bike serviced two days back (1st service- done 800kms). The cartridge shouldve been changed at first service, irrespective of mileage ( unless it wouldve done an abysmally low 200-300 kms and to hold the warranty you wanted to get the service done ).Originally posted by kunnu@cbz View PostGuys need your suggestions- I got my bike serviced two days back (1st service- done 800kms). The first oil filter change is critical, because all the metal particles that get grinded off as a result of the engine running in, eventually collect at the oil filter ( the oil carries them ). So thats why the oil and filter is replaced at first service.
If money is not an issue, change the oil as well for peace of mind sake. Its a new bike!
