Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
If a liquid cooled vehicle is running at a constant speed (no stop/start) the electric fan will not kick in since the air being rammed in through the radiator vent does the job of cooling. It is only in b2b traffic/engine running but vehicle stationery is when the fan kicks in in the absence of air cooling the radiator naturallyOriginally posted by nandhakumar View Post

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
unplug thermo stat wire in the right side of bike.Originally posted by Yamahanut View PostSuggest you leave your bike running for 5 - 7 minutes in your parking. If the fan kicks in then the sensor is working
then start your bike . it will turn the fan on.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Guys,
Any suggestion on better headlamp options on the R15? I guess the stock fitment is Lumax and would options from Philips xtreme vision, Osram etc improve matters?
Pls note that I want to stick to stock specs (35+35 W) only and not looking to install HID+ Projectors etc.
TIA

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Thanks, but given that its 55/60 over the stock setup of 35W, does it not drain the battery?Originally posted by Yamahanut View PostI am using Philips xrtreme vision 55/60 w, but it is only marginally better
Are these 35W given they are plug & play? H4 or H7 pls? Can you please help with the exact product number/model name?Originally posted by kanyharsh View PostI have installed Phillips 4000k xenon bulbs 399rs for each it is like stock plug n play type. It does improves visibility.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Another option - Osram Silverstar. Available in H1, H4 and H7 forms. Cost <500 for a pair when compared to 1500 for a pair of xtreme visions/osram night breakers.Originally posted by supratik View PostThanks, but given that its 55/60 over the stock setup of 35W, does it not drain the battery?
Best thing for you is that Osram Silverstars are 35w bulbs.
Expect up to 25-30% improvement. Speaking realistically.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Thanks. Do you know if the R15 needs H1 (single filament single holder) H4 (double filament three holder) or H7 (single filament double holder) type bulb?Originally posted by kanyharshThis is the bulb that I have installed
Am guessing it will need one H1 (high beam) and one H7 (for the low beam)
TIA
