I started with charging the dead battery. Now the ignition was there and the engine started on my first try, I rode the bike in my parking area a little then I turned it off and tried again after a few hours now the bike didn't start after the ignition. I tried for 2..3 days but nothing hapoened , then I took the bike on a goods carrier auto to Yamaha SVC and the mechanic told me that the fuel pump isn't working there must've been a short circuit and it has to be replaced and costs 10,000 rupees :0 . I just want to know can the fuel pump be repaired by any chance ?? Or I also read about the bike running on carburetor?? Please help :/ as I'm a student and can't afford that fuel pump.
someone please help I have also disassembled the pump. Don't know what to do next, don't know how to open the motor and separate the fuel filter from the motor. Also I need to jump the motor right with 12 volts ? No one has replied yet, please help guys.

        Bro
U should check voltage accross socket of fuel pump to confirm the right voltage for pump.
Its fuel filter cant separate from motor, although filter can rotate .
I have seen a fuel filter of petrol car ,it was similar to ours r15 and cost around 2.5k Try it on local car spares dealer.

With monsoons arrived, i do not want to risk riding with bald tyres. Kindly help me out!

                        • Want to buy YAMAHA R15 V1. Need valuable suggestions from experts/gurus and owners of YAMAHA R15 V1.

Hi to all the gurus / experts out there. This is my first post so please bare with me.
if I am not able to explain any point in detail then I am sorry for that in advance.

First of all little about my current ride.
I am from Pune. Currently I am using YAMAHA RX100 as my daily ride. I ride almost 40-50 kms daily. I had no issues what so ever.
It runs beautifully as I service it regularly. I must say she's awesome. It's been a while now that I am using this bike.
Now I want to buy new bike, not that I am bored with my RX100, no way you don't get bored with RX's. She's gonna stay with me forever.

So I searched on the internet and selected couple of options ...
                          1. Honda Unicorn (Old 150CC) (smooth engine, good FE)
                          2. Apache RTR 180 (great power, but i felt vibrations after 65-70kmph, gets you going in any gear)
                          3. Suzuki Gixxer 155 (again smooth engine, remains calm and composed at high speeds)
No offence but these are just my obesrvations others may have different observations. I went to respective showrooms and got the quotations...

But few days back I got a chance to ride YAMAHA R15 V1 which my friend has exchanged for couple of days with his friend. And I found it perfect.
I asked him about the bike but he was unable to resolve all of my queries. So I need someone who can help me with that.
That's when I decided to take opinions from experts/gurus and owners out there.

I know that the production of the YAMAHA R15 V1 has stopped and wont get the new one. And I dont want to buy the new R15 V2.
I know it is better than older version but I am restricted as its not in my budget.
That leaves me with the option to buy a used one.

So I searched a lot and found couple of guys who are ready to sell their R15 V1. I even tested couple of them but was not satisfied.
Following are the things about the bikes that I have personally checked/tested...
                          - The manufacturing dates of the bikes are between 2008 to 2011 (this is obvious).
                          - Distances travelled are between 33000 to 57000KMs.
                          - Most of them don't have full service records.
                          - The accelerator feel was heavy.
                          - Engine was a lot noisy.
                          - Bikes felt sluggish they were lacking punch.(I know that the beauty really comes to life after 7000 rpm) but even after even after
7000rpm I may be wrong here as I have ridden it for couple of times only.
                          - All of them always say that the bike is recently serviced and we always change all the required parts on time like (Sprocket, radiator etc.)
                          - I love the looks.. exhaust note.. handling..
                          - Riding position will take a bit getting used to but again its a track bike so that's expected.

As I have never owned any R15 before so I have some queries...
                          - First I want to have your views on above points.
                          - How shall I test the bike in order to get an idea about the health of the bike.
                          - what are the things that I need to check before buying used YAMAHA R15 V1.
                          - what is the cost to run the complete diagnostics on bike to check for all the possible problems(electrical and mechanical problems) and
what is the best place to do it.
                          - what are the things/parts that could go wrong over the years.
                          - What is the worst case scenario that could happen.
                          - My main concern is the engine. How can I check whether the engine is in good condition?
                          - In worst case whats the cost to completely rebuild the engine to stock condition? And even after full rebuild will it be any good?
                          - What's the maximum/average life of any YAMAHA R15 V1 engine.(I know it depends completely upon how you ride it but consider that
                          the bike is farely maintained).
                          - My mechanic told me not to buy any bike which is ridden more than 35000 (for obvious reasons) how much is it true with R15 V1.
                          - I heardand read that it delivers 40+ in city and 45+ on highway. How true is it?. And is it really possible with the bike which is 5-7 years old.
                          - How much it'll cost me to maintain the bike i.e. which are the parts that need to be serviced regularly and which are the parts that needs to be
changed regularly or after certain KM's and how much will be the cost.
                          - What about the plastic body parts how much they cost if I have to change all of them this is in worst case.
                          - And most important point is the price. All the owners are asking prices between 50K to 65K even 85K. So what sould be the ideal price for a R15
which is used for 5-7 years considering the bike is in farely good condition (not best but good).
And is it really worth spending this much on a used bike. Why I am asking this because if I spend this much amount and again if I have to spend
15K to 20K more just to again make it to stock condition then I think that's not worth it and dont want that to happen.

So please please please help me guys I am desprately waiting for owning one. And also please share your relative experiences if any.
                          Eagerly waiting....
