Hello guys I created a thread

to ask some questions but didn't get d responses so reposting it here, below is the copied thread please answer the ques help. Thanks.

    Hello everyone,

This is my 2nd thread. the first being my story posted in "who r u" section. so i want a beginners guide for r15v2 as I'm going to buy one tomorrow. i also have some questions which i would like to ask separately but before i do i must tell that i don't have any idea of tech stuff, rpm, and all as i previously rode a splendor from hero honda. and a scooty hero pleasure. so please elaborate terms and tech stuff i should know for better.

    1. what is rpm and what rotations does it exactly display? and how does it help in riding this bike? what should be the ideal rpm level gear wise?
    2. at what speed and rpm should i maintain my ride in the beginning or before 1st service?
    3. i'll be buying a helmet, and gloves. please suggest me what else should i buy or is a must buy. also tell me what is this puncture kit and how does it work and if should i buy it ? if yes any particular brand or company keeping in mind its for r15 ?
    4. what necessary questions or things should i check or need to know from dealer before taking it out from showroom tomorrow? Is there any particular thing i must look for in my new bike at showroom that i should check?
    5. Any other tips as i am a totally new rider, don't know a thing about it, have driven a scooty and a hero honda splendour in my past.

    thanks n regards,

    Shivam

Answers are according to your queries:-

      1. Rpm or rotations per minute, it shows rotation your wheels are doing per minute.

      2. Before first service or 1000kms you should not exceed 5k rpm but small bursts upto 7k rpm should also be there. In simple words during run in you should vary rpm, do not ride constantly at a particular speed.

      3. You should always have good quality full face helmet, gloves and armoured riding jacket these are standard riding gear. In addition to that you can wear knee guards also.

      4. Look for scratches and all necessary things. Search pdi list by using search tool, there's whole list available and discussed in many threads even in R15 thread.

      5. Just enjoy your ride and ride safely.

        .
It doesn't show the rotation of your wheel -.-'

It actually shows the number of engine cycles in a minute

Saying it shows the rotation of the wheel is stupid as the wheel rotates more on the same rpm on 5th gear than on 1st gear cause of the difference in speed so your point is void here

Try changing the bush (lower end) of the suspension, it will help.
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

You see a bolt in the lower end? That has a bush over it, replace that and things should be fine. Is the suspension setting on hard or soft?

Suspension is default setting. I'll go to service centre to make it right.

I dont know what you guys are talking about on hard and soft settings. Theres no settings which can be done on R15's shock.
Its default settings cant be changed. Yes , its on hard setting compared to other bikes in its competition. But that is one reason why it handles better than the competition, especially in corners. You can get used to it.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..
