Showed to kings yamaha service at baner but they also could not resolve that, as yamaha factory shop at wakdewadi is closed i have no other options.

Requesting you all to guide me with the same.
The orange light has nothing to do with your bike's radiator. If your bike was overheating then the red idiot light would have come on. So put the radiator aside for the moment. The orange light is 'check engine' light, which comes on when one of the number of sensors on your bike starts to misbehave. As someone said above, you need a diaognostic tool find out what is the exact error. Such a tool will be available with the Service center. You need to insist that the diagnostic tool be used to check the whole system otherwise it is going to be a hit and miss method of trying to solve the problem.

      • Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 Shutting down when heated

        Hi,

I recently started using my R15 after a break of almost 8 Months. Got the bike serviced and replaced engine oil, coolant and break fluids before i started using the bike again. for the past couple of days I am facing an issue that when the engine heats up and the radiator fan starts the bike stops and refuses to start again till the engine cools down. can any if you suggest what might be the issue as i have already checked the coolant and it is almost full.
Note - the battery is fine and there is no drain observed on the battery when the radiator fan switches on.

@All: I'm up for my 2nd set of tyre replacement at 40K kms. and have a couple of questions:

          1. How is Michelin Pilot Sporty for the rear 100/80 x 17" ? It's costing me ( INR 1700 ) close to 1K lesser than the MRF Zapper S ( INR 2600 )

          2. Zapper FY ( 80/90 x 17" ) is not found. How will V2's FY1 ( 90/80 x 17" ) be?

Any inputs from those who are using will be appreciated

As I could not find the stock one so I went for Pirelli Sport Dragon (80/90 x 17") for the front and have been riding her for about 1K kms through all kind of road & weather conditions , never felt any lack of confidence and luckily did not sustain any punctures yet. Not sure about the price in INR.

I've heard that v2's front is better than the stock one, however I'll go for the sport dragon again as I've experienced the taste.

by the way, Sarvajit Vaaiya, how are you enjoying the two most reliable and sveltest mini super bikes ( r15 and then the r3, heard that you can go easily past 180! on her ) , I'm saving money and having daydreams of r3.

That's nice. I'm sure I won't get this tyre here in Hyderabad though.
I will prefer the Zapper FY (80/90 x 17) compared to the FY1 (90/80 x 17) even though no one has reported any issues with performance or speedo readings.
I got the rear stock Zapper S (100/80 x 17) tyre at a puncture shop opposite my place today for 2300 so got it fitted by paying 100. It did damage the rim finish though, as it wasn't done on a machine.
I will get the small rim bend removed, and both rims painted, along with the front tyre after a month or two. Right now spending money on add-ons for the R3. 😆
Speaking of the R3, yes, it is a great tourer with a sporty engine. I've taken it till 145kmph since I'm in run-in, but there's loads of power left. It has everything R15 lacks on touring.
That said, R15 V1 is a great machine in its own right. Doesn't heat, light, zippy and has a comfortable pillion seat too for those who need it. And the Deltabox is addictive once you are used to throwing it around! ☺

How does YZF-R15-S fair against R15 v1.0? People still can buy R15 v1 in different name-tag now, right?

There is no R15 V1 now. R15-S has R15 V2 internals, tyre, silencer, chainset, swingarm, everything.
Except the plastics/fibre and seat of course.

What's the significance of two engines in different state of tune?

I have not even ridden V2 extensively.
I guess someone else can answer this.

I own a r15 v1. Have been riding it since 6-7 months. Last month met with an accident was riding my bike at around 50-55kmph,a small kid came rushing on the road after leaving his mother's hand,he was just a few metre away from me I slammed the brakes too hard leading to the wheel lock n skid, I had the bike in control but unfortunately the car (swift dzire) behind me was not in control n he dashed me from behind. I slipped n slided on the road. Due to proper gear (helmet, a thick jacket) saved me, just a few scratches. People said my bike dashed the pole which caused my bike's front suspension bent n brake lever broken!
Kid was safe didn't even let my bike touch him.
Bike damage bill concluded to 5.5k
My only message to all my biker friends is Ride safe and dont leave your house without a helmet atleast.

My colleague have bought V1S and it is very much different from the old V1.

V1S is similar to V2, the only difference is the seat and the tail light [apart from slight power difference] and a big ugly rear mud-flap.

It has same characteristics as V2.

So its like a V2 with new seat, tail light & mud-flap
