  • Re: Yamaha YZF-R15

Got my bike's fuel injector cleaned at a Yamaha Service Centre.
Bike has been running for close to 6yrs without any cleaning of the injectors, so got it done during general service.

Test results were satisfactory, & my bike's injector results said it was performing better than a new injector (tested alongside for comparison purpose).

I was billed Rs. 250 for the same & its hardly a 5 min cleaning & testing.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

How many kms. has the bike done?
I stopped going to authorized SVC a couple of years back.
Have a personal mechanic who came out of Yamaha.

Cool. Mine is still at 38K, even though I toured last winter.
            Blame it on 2yrs. Non-usage!
Can this injector cleaning be done only at Yamaha?

Apparently this equipment was given by Yamaha only after the R15 v2's launch.

I believe any good SBK mechanic would have an injector cleaner, or would know where it is available.

The benefit I see in getting it cleaned at a Yamaha SVC is that you will also get to know how your bike's injector is performing versus a brand new one. This may not be possible at a non-Yamaha SVC (I think a new fuel injector costs in the range of 7.5k).

Highlighted in blue is a new injector, & in red is my bike's injector. Testing & cleaning of both happens simultaneously.

                Looks good.
I remember an injector spray being used.
                Was that done here too?

What is the frequency at which you guys have had your R15 v1's chain-set replaced?

it would depend on kind of usage and maintenance like how often it is cleaned, lubed and adjusted for slack.
i got it changed at around 22-24000 kms on my v1.

Well anyone from Mumbai....? Can anyone from Mumbai tell me which is the best service station to get my bike serviced? I bought my bike from Thomson Automative. He himself has got a service station. I'vent seen it yet though...

So which is the best service station? When i had my P200, i used to go to Sai service, Phoenix mills. Why m tellin u this is there i used to wait for say 1-2 hours and used to get my bike serviced in front of my eyes.

Can this b done with R15? For that which is the best service station?
There's Matrix Automotive in Malad west. They have a lounge where you can sit and watch your bike being worked on. The people there are friendly and the mechanics know their stuff.

Yes, many are using. You can try that . Its a good tyre and even better choice when stock is unavailable .
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

I recently changed the Front Tyre. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/attachme...74024313_n.jpg

I'm not facing any such issue. Instead, the handling got much better than before.
