I will be at Old Airport Road, so SVCs closer to that will be preferable.

@tibby: I had sent you an sms over the weekend regarding this too.
Dropped you a VM sometime back reg this. Just saw your post now.
Will check & get back mate.

No, we are looking for different products I think.
I'm looking for fully synthetic oil, and you are looking for semi-synthetic oil.
I will reply to your sms as well in sometime.

      • Fully synthetic simply vaporizes in ~1500kms.

I rather use semi and get it changed.

        • Whoa!! Sheel, what're you saying? Motul Fully Synthetic vapourises in 1500kms???

I'm using the 300v. Its amazing! Done 7k kms on it already! Now it needs a change.

@ all- I got a free flow exhaust from Joel. Well, indirectly... Review and pics/vids coming soon...
          You get the point?? :D

On the Karizma the level dipped below the 'low' level in 1700 odd kms. I had mentioned about this in the older xbhp and perhaps somewhere on some other forum.

@Tibby: Do the Motul lube make the Bike smother than the Yamaha Lube SS?

              Hey,
Guys i have a problem: i recently got my battery changed, after that things got Worse. Now sometime if i'm in heavy traffic, running using the head lights on and when the bike is switched off, it hesitate to starts. Couple of times i had to Push start the bike in Signals (So embarasing na..). But after raising the accelerator it solves the problem. it happens always when i'm in traffic? Is my battery has problem or SOmething else is draining my battery ? Please share your thoughts

              • @sheelpriye: I think fully synthetic oil does not suit some bikes.
I used Petronas Sprinta 5000T 10w40 fully synthetic on my older 150cc bike, but the oil was all black&just above the low mark at 1250 kms.
I switched back to mineral, and the oil level did not drop/change color till 2K kms.!
As for the R15, I started off with mineral&have been using the semi-synth Yamalube ever since the third service. I don't top it up-directly drain it out at around 4K kms.
I am sure that the fully synth will need a topup, but was curious to see how the bike responds to it, being a thinner oil (10w40), it should rev more freely. Wanted to just see how the bike responds to it-since no one has posted their experience, its tough to say how long it lasts&when it needs a topup!

@svjhonda: When did the Motul 300V require a topup&how much? It could be an indicator of how the Yamalube full synth might behave.

Yes, its faaaaar better than the crappy Yamalube SS. See below:

                  Oil - Price - Rating
                  Yamalube Mineral SG (15W40) - Rs. 185 - 3 (used 5k Kms)
                  Yamalube Mineral SL (15W40) - Rs. 220 - 3 (used 4k Kms)
                  Yamalube Semi Synthetic (15W50) - Rs. 415 - 3.5 (used 6k Kms)
                  Motul Semi Synthetic 5100 (15W50) - Rs. 450 - 4.5 (used 50 Kms)

I have not run the bike much on the Motul SS yet as I got the bike serviced only yesterday, but it feels miles better than any of the oils I have used till date.
The gearshifts are butter smooth with this oil, & the engine sounds way smoother & comfortable at all revs.
I think I have finally found the right oil for the bike now, and need to look no further.

IMO, a fully synthetic (FS) oil is not required, unless you redline the bike consistently (like using the bike say on a trackday). I don't plan to switch to FS anytime soon, unless a trackday is lined up sometime.

I hope this small review helps.

Buddy, mine says both, 20w40 or 20w50; the first digit is corresponds to the lowest temperature the engine oil can work with and second digit is for the highest temperatures.

Also, if you go for semi-synthetic or full-synthetic, the overall performance of oil becomes better. i.e. the oil will sustain the viscosity for a longer periods.. hence good for engine and longer drain intervals.

                    I hope this will help.

have you seen the darker toned one yourself?

i am quite sure about it
coz a guy repainted the seat cowl to darker toned one just because the darker tone is not available

Pranjal, I am 100% positive! I was holding it in my hand! It was the OLD red seat cowl and the person said only this red comes. The newer tomato red doesn't come at all, according to her. So, I ordered a black one

I dont know what's going on! Can anyone confirm if its the new tomato red or the old crimson red seat cowl available? Please!

When the red cowl was released, I remember it was too bright&didn't match with the older R15. You can go ahead&buy that for your bike, as it is a perfect match.
