Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
From your defined malfunction light blinking the code seems to be 42, which, is for the speed sensor malfunction. Change your speed sensor, then disconnect the battery, wait for about a minute or two, and reconnect the battery (this will reset the ECU).Originally posted by sunny9830687955 View Postguys need help

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Hi All,
I have an R15 version 1 and I need to change the rear tyre but the current stock Tyre (zapper 100-80 17) isn't broad enough..
I need a little broader tyre which gives better stability but I do not have to change the swing arm or any other major changes in the set up.
I am mostly looking for MRF tyre...any recommendations are welcome. Thanks

Yamaha YZF-R15 v1: Time to change Rear Tyre
My Bike's rear tyre has to be changed... bike has run 26K+ on odo. The Threads are yet to wear off but as its been 2 years and approx 6 punctures so far, I'm thinking its time to change.
^ same as above post, I'm thinking about upgrading for a broader profile without upsetting the balance or changing the swingarm. More so, because as mentioned above, the tyres gets punctured more often.
Also, I know that the stock tyre are the best option but, I felt that the stock tyre do not work well in wet roads especially when there is lot of loose sand and gravel on road.
So, what are my options and where to get in Noida?? any help suggestion would be appreciated.

For the broader profile, you can go for zapper vyde 120/80 r17. It is good for wet grip and broad too. Needs no modification on swing arm and Im using it on my V1.
and for the grip on gravel i do not think any tyre to be grippy on loose gravel. Gravels become rollers and move the tyre aside unless you can have a ATV tyre

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 v1: Time to change Rear Tyre
Today while commuting to Office, I faced a peculiar issue.
at first, suddenly the bike started decelerating.. RPM went down to 2000 from 7000 within a few seconds and then suddenly I heard a thud sound... sounded like the gear was stuck and it released...
then it was normal for a few minutes... again suddenly the engine shut down in the middle of road, I was decelerating but the RPM was in the range of 4000 - 5000.. I tried pressing the the ignition switch but no sound from engine... after a few tries it started.. then the bike was behaving normal.
The bike was serviced on 18th august and the chain set and clutch and throttle wire were replaced as it was 26000 KMs old. Also, it was the second time that the bike was not serviced in front of me as I had some work so I left the bike in SVC.
Please suggest what could be the issue.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 v1: Time to change Rear Tyre
Well this could be a faulty kill switch issue. I had a similar problem, at about 7000rpm the revs just drop and the bike almost stops. Then suddenly if the contact is made then the bike just rumbles back to life then starts behaving normally. Sometimes it would take some time for me to get the bike cranking aswell. But just last weekend I changed the Kill switch then this problem is died out. But I am not sure about the Thud sound on the gear box though.Originally posted by Sauravh View PostToday while commuting to Office, I faced a peculiar issue.

Hi All,
I believe the stock head light bulb are 35 watts. Can we upgrade this to higher watts or any specific bulb which can provide better light.
Thanks
