Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Hello guys a small query... can we adjust our handle bar alignment? I feel my left handle bar is bent a little bit towards the tank. My younger brother had a fall on the left side so I doubt my left handlebar needs adjustment. Can it be adjusted or does it has to be changed?
Thanks.Yamaha R15 V1 2011

First check if there is any problem to the fork. If not change the handle bar, why take chances ? It doesn't cost that much .Originally posted by segagt_0 View PostHello guys a small query... can we adjust our handle bar alignment? I feel my left handle bar is bent a little bit towards the tank. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
My Bike has done 78469kms today. I went on a crazy tour last week to Uttaranchal - Himachal, where we rode on some very bad roads in night. This time decided to ride in hills in the night time as it was full moon. Crossed river crossing in nights and even rode on some jungle tracks in night... it was fun and the bike enjoyed it thoroughly..... I love it. We did 1400kms and the last day rode in continous rain for more than 6hrs....

Nope nothing like that.Originally posted by cooladim28 View Postmine has done just 9k km and i have changed the rear brake pads twice. The people at the service centre says that it lasts only for 4000km maximum.
Check your brake lever, adjust it accordingly, It might be the possibility that your foot rest on brake lever and lever in turn gives a mild pressure on pads pushing them to come in contact with Disc, resulting worn out.
Mostly try to not keep your foot on brake lever.
My Rear disc pad lasts more than 5000kms and front more than 10k kms there are people with more stats.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
somen1984 i have been riding fazer paralally and never i have faced such an issue.. i do not rest my foot on the lever, though i agree to the fact that i often jam the brakes. I myself saw the condition of the brake pad when i first changed it just after clocking 2k km and it was in a really sorry state.... i have extensively used pulsar 220 too and it has never asked for such a frequent change of the brake pads... i really doubt about the quality of the brake pads. .... !

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
Hi guyz...This post is actually for one of my friend who rides r15 ver 1.0
When are we supposed to change the rear disc(not pads)
...I mean after how much kilometers???
Actually the odo reading is 35k+...I know we are supposed to change if the disc surface is not smooth & have produced scratches..
But I would like to know if there is a time frame of how much kms max you are supposed to run with your discs after which we should change them irrespective of the condition.---------------------------------------------------------------------------
With great power comes great responsibility...

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15
You need to change it depending upon wear and tear. I ride a v1, and I just picked up new rotors last week. When the thickness of the rotor reduces beyond a certain threshold, it's advisable to change. 35K is too early to change, unless you've ridden too much with a worn out brake pad.Originally posted by susheelkumar View PostHi guyz...This post is actually for one of my friend who rides r15 ver 1.0

Happens, I get a similar life with my brake pads. Don't worry, business as usual. Quality of the brake pads are steadily declining. There is not much you can do about it.Originally posted by cooladim28 View Postmine has done just 9k km and i have changed the rear brake pads twice.
