They are right. you can rip it, but dont rip very hard. R15 comes with higher bore clearance than other bikes.
be gentle till first 200 kms or so. then you can go for harder ripping prograsively. And go full on after 1500 kms or so.
There's lot to it other than saddle....

    • Hay R15 brothers, I have heard that the R15 engine is not enough durable to last till 70/80k kms? Is that true? I am planning to have one.
Please give me some light on that issue.
      Move on.........

ALL IZZ WELL so far(Touchwood) and hope to be in the Future.
the SVC couldn't sort out the vibrations from the visor side which comes up at 3k-4.5k rpm. will try putting some thermocol there.
can you please guide me as to what max rpm I should treat her after 1st service...been taking her upto 6k rpm. and what are the things to look for.
been riding very less compared to other bikers, done only 600kms till date.

        RIDE SAFE
the vibrations from the visor at particular rpm range is a problem several users has been facing. i have been having this prob for the past 1.5 years. the svc guys opened up the entire front portion 3 times but they simply failed to rectify the problem all the time. now i keep some cotton(that is used by svc mechanics to wipe their hands during work)stuffed between the front visor and the speedo. the vibrations has reduced considerably and you wouldnt hear it at all if you ride with the helmet.

        • Hey guys,
I have a R15 for the past two years and it has been amazing owning this mean machine.
I wanted to know about the angel eyes for the headlight available in the market. Do these lights affect the mechanics and battery life of the bike. Also does the electricals get affected.
Wanted some expert opinion before i go ahead and buy these lights.

The ones who said you(would like to know who, so please oblige) would be in a better position to answer this.

Engine oil is changed every 4Kms, chain is cleaned and sprayed every 2kms, coolant is checked every 10Kms, if low refilled, brake oil is checked every 10Kms, if low refilled, am i missing something ?

PS: The way i am driving this days, i don't think i need a new pair of tyres, R15 is hardly doing above 60kmph this days.
              Am I in a night mare ??

I have changed my rear tyre in 10k km and front tyre in 22k km.

I have checked this with Yamaha trained engineers. Be rest assured, this bike will have double or triple the life what other Indian bikes give.
70/80K kms.is about 1/3rd of what it is capable of lasting, given that the oil changes are at the right intervals.
This bike comes with an all aluminium piston&cylinder which you find in high end cars.
With full liquid cooling, Fi, et.all, in what way is it less than a car?
If a car can last 2-300,000kms., why not this bike?

                  • The right handle bar of my R15 has become bent..!
On showing it to the garage they said..it would have to be replaced..!

Can anyone tell me whether its possible to purchase only the right handle bar alone..or do I have to purchase both L and R as a set..!!
And also what is the cost of the handle bar..?

r15 is technically the most advanced bike. as per my view engine is very reliable. engine wont disappoint you. it lasts very long.
i say r15 is a bike not to compare with other desi bikes
                        there is nothing in common

                            • The ones available in petrol bunks :-)

on a serious note , Any fuel will do until its clean, been using ordinary fuel since 2.3 yrs and bike runs like a charm .
I dont see/feel gains when using premium fuels.(personal opinion)

                              • One funny Incident happened

Was at my Home for Onam .. One funny Incident happened.

I was trying to sell my Splendor. Few guys came to see my bike. They asked me why am i selling it. i told them that i got a new Baby R1 . Hearing that the next word came from those guys were was..
"Heard that the bIke is FUll of complaints , Someone they knew had to change the chain sproket after 30K Kms, and SOme say the tyre wears too soon.. Etc". i nearly lagughed at them and told that's not with the problem of the bike. it's the problem of the Guy who rides it ..
This is how people debrand things without even knowing how the bike is or what the bike is.. I told them not to compare R15 With the desi bikes. it's of a different class.. Asked them to Name any Bike which can do 130 Km/Hr without any Vibrations continously for "n" number of KMs.. They were Like .. They never knew that..
