Finally got a R15v1. 2009 november model. It has ran only- 10180kms. Color- Red/white. Got it for 58k
. Changed the mobil, clutch cable, front disk pad. Rode it only 120kms till now and must say its quite a handler. I does not have that p220 standstill pick up but post 6krpm it becomes a rocket. Before buying this one I did test ride 4 R15s and all of them had the same problem that my one has that is how much fuel I fill the fuel meter shows the last thumb blinking. Will post pics of the bike as soon as I buy a Mobile as I have lost my one on the day i bought the bike.
R15 has a 12L tank. How will I know that the bike hits reserve?sigpic

Between, the reserve fuel capacity is 1.9 ltr and as soon as it hits this mark an 'F' indicator would start blinking on the ODOMETER.sigpic

xbhp is back online! great! lets get back to problem solving now!
urgently to all:
bike's pick-up is gone for a toss, at all rpms, all gears..24k on the odo, air filter is fine, running on 300v...
could it be the clutch plates?
also, noticed some oil in the air-filter box..is this normal??(happening first time)
and about the cone-set:
there is an insane amount of play in the handle bar, go over any pot hole and you can feel and hear all parts individually moving around..recently got the cone-set greased, all bolts tightened, didn't help..is the only solution a cone set change? or any other pointers??after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!

Clutch plates replacement and primary gear drive is your issue i think.Originally posted by veyron999 View Postxbhp is back online! great! lets get back to problem solving now!

Check the chain tensioner too and the engine mount bolts.
Have you replaced the front fork oils and greased the front and rear tyre bearings.
Check if the race ball kit has gone bad or damaged.
After you consume 10.1 litres the reserve hits and when you refill it blinks for some time as the sensor takes time to rest itself, so best option is when you refill, at the same time keep the reset button pressed for 2 seconds, and you are done.Originally posted by GHoSt220 View PostFinally got a R15v1. 2009 november model. I leaned a lot from R15 both V1 and V2 as a newbie. Saw you post the same in V2 thread.Originally posted by chothibai View Postdoes that sound means there is something fishy with my chain? if yes then should i be going for a new chain or that sound can be removed....help
I suppose R15 should have a chain slider and my two cents is that, there might be a problem with that! Did you checked that? The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

Chain slider is the guiding equipment that straightens the chain path and guides it to the front sprocket.Originally posted by chothibai View Postwhat is a chain slider and is the chain slider responsible for the sound.....if u can plz elaborate bhai ddnt get you at all>>>>
The below is the chain slider of D200 for reference.
Usually, its a rubber material and it is subjected to wear and if it wears off, the chain will slide over the swing arm and will produce noise. Refer your manual. You should be getting further details.
EDIT:
Yamaha R15 Service manual says it as "Drive Chain Guide". The following pic is the one place where I could find the word about it in the whole manual. Its hard for me to guess the exact position of that guide. But, looking at your bike, You should be easily finding it.

the mechanic here is recommending both clutch and pressure plates to be changed..the pressure plates are not available as of now and are expected soon, so the issue still persists..
and could you explain what you mean by 'primary gear drive' ?
as for the steering issue, he said that the cone set had to be changed (cone set price : INR 2765, including labor)
got it done and now that handling is back to normal! but there is still one issue, while riding at times i suspect some wobbling, but can't tell for sure whether the roads is causing it..could it be front rim issue or bearings? any other thing to be checked?after monday and tuesday, even the calendar says WTF!!
